Sensing Evil

The crisp wind rustled through the leaves of the trees on the fine, sunny day. Spread out lying in the sun by a running river was a team of five. And a strange group it was! One demon, which looked young, and was about eighteen years old name, was Inu-Yasha. He had long blue-gray hair, two dog-like ears, and an extremely bad temper. Lying there in the sun he looked more annoyed then usual. Sitting next to him was a girl about fifteen years old, with medium-length black hair, and wearing a school uniform. Her name was Kagome. Standing by the river were the other three, a little fox demon named Shippo, a monk named Miroko, and a demon exterminator named Sango. Each was equally as restless because they had not even picked up any sign of a Shrikon fragment for a couple of weeks.

"Errrrrrrrrrrr! I can't take this anymore!" Inu-Yasha screamed. "Inu-Yasha please calm down, eventually we will pick up the trail and find more fragments, and this is not anybody's fault." Miroko said trying to reason with the ill-tempered demon. "Yes, but it's this wench next to me who hasn't sensed any yokai lately!" Inu-Yahsha blurted out. But he knew he had gone to far once again. "A wench am I, is that all I am, a shard detector?" Kagome said with tears in her eyes. "Gulp" Oh no I made her cry again! This always happens when we are stressed out. "Kagome, I, I am sorry" he said very quietly, he wasn't very good at making apologies. "What, I can't hear you." She said through clenched teeth. "I'M SOOOOOORRRRRRYYYYYYY!" he yelled for he could not take it any more.

Kagome burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" asked Inu-Yasha. "You're trying so hard to be polite, and your face was so funny! Inu-Yasha I forgive you but next time don't scream. "Ok, at least she's not mad anymore, I hate it when I hurt her feelings. "This is just so strange, I don't feel any yokai energy, not the faintest source." "I guess we should head on to the next town to see if anybody knows anything." Said Miroko. "But that's what we've been doing, these stupid, slime ball people." "Inu-Yasha sit!" "Arrgggg!" "They are poor people, if there is any way we can help each other then we need to listen to them!" said Kagome. "Come on people, lets move out!" said Sango.

So the group set off on to the next village. Kagome was riding on Inu- Yasha's back, though he was still irritated that Kagome made him sit. Sango, Miroko, and Shippo were riding on the back of Kiara, a cat like demon who can change in size. They were heading down a path in the nearby forest when all of a sudden.

"Oh, I sense something like a fragment, but something's wrong," said Kagome. "What, what could be wron." Inu-Yasha stopped suddenly. CRAAAAAAAAASHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGR!

And in front of the group came a huge demon. It was a dragon type, it was black and had stone embedded in his head. Venom came spurting out of his mouth.

"Hmph, I knew I would run into you sometime." It said. "Who are you?" asked Inu-Yasha. "Ha! You don't know? I am Safor, keeper of the tainted stones. "Tainted stones" questoned Kagome "Why how stupid, even you don't know for you can sense them?" "The shrikon fragments? But that's impossible, I can't pick up any sign of them, just evil." Said Kagome. "Well you hit the spot, I have the fragments but you can't sense them for I have tainted them with the power of Naruku!" "Wait, Naruku's in this?" said Inu-Yasha. "Who else, he is by far greater then the likes of you." Said Safor. "So he tainted the fragments so Kagome could not sense them, but why? How come we didn't sense evil here before?" asked Miroko. "Naruku's purposes are his business only! As for you, I need to kill the shard detector so no one will find the shards again!" "You'll have to get through me first before you hurt Kagome!" "So, you care for her don't you, well what about the walking death Kikyo?" "What?" How does he know about Kikyo?
