Do you hear the people sing?
Night was deep in Skyrim. The men did not march – not in the loud, extravagant, gentleman's way. They scurried through the night, surrounded the outside of Solitude.
Their home would no longer be controlled by the Empire. Their gods would not be desecrated any longer.
Singing a song of angry men?
They were fighting for their freedom.
There was no morale raising speech to give on this night. The prospect of freedom being so close was enough.
It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again.
The men unsheathed their weapons and prepared their shields. They saw their leader – Ulfric Stormcloak himself – rise and raise his sword. The two guards at the gates realized what was happening in horror – for the first time, making out the army.
Two arrows shot from troops took down the men in silence. The army advanced.
The doors were pushed open and there was no more time to wait. "For Talos!" Ulfric Stormcloak cried. The resounding echo shook the very foundations of Solitude. An unprepared Imperial Army rose to defend its last standing ground.
By the light of the moons, the men moved forward quickly until met with an opposing force. All of the Imperial Army charged in and the war cries resounded and the swords began to clash.
When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums…
Most civilians hid inside their homes, locked their doors. But there was a rare few who joined in the fight, unprepared, and they were downed.
Stormcloak blood wet the streets but the men rallied. There was a great camaraderie between them as they fought towards the most important virtue – freedom.
There is a life about to start…
Men fell, but now there was more Imperial armor littering the street than Stormcloak.
The fight grew closer and closer to Castle Dour – and then it was taken.
The Imperial Army retreated.
The sun reached them and dawn broke in the sky.
The Stormcloaks gathered and looked at each other. They had won.
When tomorrow comes!
