Their helmets clashed, a pure metal ring echoed through the training yard.
"I told you, the next time you would be looking at me from lying flat on your back." The other man chuckled. He swept his dark hair out of his face, spraying sweat everywhere.
"I'm sure. Let's dance."
"Again?" William asked, looking surprised. The other man smirked,
"Do you know anything better to do?" William smiled,
"Do you want to compete?"
"The tournament isn't until tomorrow. I can kill you then." William laughed out loud.
"I have won the last four championships I have been in. You were too busy showing off on the battlefield."
"Well I am a lord, it is what we do." William pointed his sword at him,
"Are you accusing me of something?" The other man laughed.
"Would I do that?" he asked, looking nonchalantly down the length of his sword.
"I hope not. I would rather not have to fight you to defend my honor." The dark haired man chuckled.
"You don't care do you?" asked William suddenly. The man looked at him for a moment before stepping forwards, letting his sword slide easily back into his belt. He laid his hand on William's shoulder,
"I care not where you were born or who you were born too. It could be in that little town in London or it could be a grand castle in Scotland." William smiled and laid his own hand upon the hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you." The man grinned softly.
"Come here." He said, opening his arms. William stepped into them slowly, a beam on his face.
"All that matters is that you are mine, at least for a little while." William nodded, kissing the grizzly cheek next to him.
"I love you." He murmured into the man's shoulder. The man's grip tightened.
"I love you too." After a second William stepped back.
"Come, we should practice before someone sees us." But he was smiling.
"What should we do after that?" William leaned over and brought his lips crashing upon the others.
"How about that?" he asked, winking.
"That would be good." Said the other man, leaning into another one.
"That would be very good," he whispered before they both hit the soft earth.
