The Laundry Girl

An idea that has been sitting in my head for far too long.

Summary: She's had enough of doing everyone's laundry. Now it's time for sweet revenge, Kagura style.

Disclaimer: I think I was inspired by a picture I once saw and the episode where Hakudoushi asks her to go and get him some clothes.

The Laundry Girl

What was it with everyone in this castle? Why did she have to go again and again do their biding, their little mundane tasks? Sure she could understand when they were half dead, or half alive, whichever you preferred, but really, did she look like the laundry girl? Of course not! She was the mistress of the wind, the one who always evaded death and yet her life hung by a single hair, quite literally.

She had sworn to herself that she would never sink so low, and yet here she was again, stalking the four corners of the land all in search of a stupid robe. This time it had been that insignificant little whelp, Hakudoushi, who had told her to go and fetch the item.

When she got to the place, she was surrounded by a myriad of robe selection of every different size and color. Seeing as she was here, she decided to replenish her stocks and try to foresee what the rest of her strange household could possibly ask her to pick up next.

She started looking around and spotted the perfect one for the nuisance. She smirked devilishly as she packed it up with the rest before mounting her feather and going back to what she called home.

Back at the castle, she sneaked in the other's room and changed the contents of the wardrobe. If this didn't stop him from sending her to do these trivial tasks, then she didn't know what would. She then moved silently into the night and went to the second room. The laundry packages delivered, she cleaned her hands and went to rest. Tomorrow would be a very interesting morning that was for sure.

--

When Naraku woke up that morning, he strode to his wardrobe and picked the first baboon pelt that came in his hands and didn't even bother to look at it. Once he was fully clothed, he walked to the looking glass to stare at his beautiful reflection. His eyes widened in shock when he saw himself and yelled out her name.

--

In another room across the hall, Hakudoushi woke up to the sound of yelling. He cursed under his breath and walked to the pile of neatly folded clothes that were on the table. He hadn't bothered opening the windows and his room was still dark. As he slipped on his clothing for the day, he noticed that they were nice and soft. He would have to tell her in some way that he approved of this type of garment. Once he was done, he crossed the hall to see what the conniption was all about.

--

When Hakudoushi entered the room and saw Naraku and when Naraku saw Hakudoushi walk in his room, the two of them starred at each other in shock before silently laughing. When Hakudoushi noticed the other man laughing, he bent his head to see if perhaps Naraku had been laughing at his expense. That was when he saw what he had put on this morning. It was a pink and lilac fluffed out robe with patterns of lilies, caterpillars and heart shaped flowers. The little color he had drained from his face.

"KAGURA!" He yelled out. From down the hall, Kagura smirked as she applied rouge to her lips.

"And that will teach them who's boss of this castle." She thought to herself.

OWARI

I don't really remember what my original intentions were, but they were something like this. Written this morning when my tutor student didn't show up.
