"You traded your ship for me?" she asked quietly with disbelief evident in her voice.
"Aye," he answered simply and honestly. Emma looked deep into his eyes, and he let her. Killian Jones. A one handed pirate that had turned her life around and done everything in his power to save her and her son. The man who had tried true love's kiss when he found her in New York, who had now traded his ship for her. The man who had her heart. She leaned in and thanked him the best way she knew how. Unlike their kiss in Neverland, this was slow and vulnerable and raw emotion.
"You kissed me in New York. Were you—did you try—I mean, what was that exactly?" She asked. He looked down.
"I thought maybe True Love's kiss would work but…it appears you didn't feel the same," he explained softly, trying to hide the hurt in his eyes. She half smiled at him.
"Wanna know a secret?" She asked trying to catch his attention. Hook raised his head and arched an eyebrow.
"True Love's kiss doesn't work on memory loss. My parents had the same thing happen from what I've been told. So if I couldn't remember who I was, the life I had, or you even, how could I remember something like True Love?"
"What are you saying?" he asked cautiously almost afraid of the answer.
"I'm saying that I think my life felt so empty before because I never really had my heart with me. You did, Killian. I love you," Emma said as a tear of happiness rolled down her cheek and pure emotion seeped through her voice. Hook brushed the tear away and kissed her cheek where the tear stain was.
"You know I love you too. By the way, I wanted to say that first."
