Sweet and Cruel Fantasy
The squealing of sparklings,
The laughter of younglings,
Could be heard all around me.
I watch our creations play,
They look like you and me,
Never have I been so happy.
You wrap your arms around me,
We tell each other about our day,
Never have I felt so peaceful.
There is no war to worry about,
There is only our family,
Never have I experienced such bliss.
We kiss.
I open my optics and look around,
I am alone in my room,
It was nothing more than a daydream.
I scream in frustration,
I claw at my wings,
Scratching away the symbols I was once proud of.
I stop and begin to cry,
It can never be,
The family and peace I so desire.
A fantasy that will taunt me forever,
Because you are gone,
And it is all my fault.
