Chris' first scar, if you could even call it that, was harmless. He and Wyatt had been messing around, pretending to give each other tattoos. Unfortunately Wyatt had somehow managed to get his hands on the permanent markers. He'd very carefully drawn the Triquetra on Chris' forearm. Chris reckoned that Wyatt may have accidentally inserted some of his magic into it because the tattoo was still pristine 15 years later. Chris smiled at the symbol fondly. It acted as a reminder of why he was doing this. He had to preserve the good in his brother.

On his opposite arm there lay an ugly red mark, one of the more severe burns Wyatt had inflicted on Chris during his reign of terror. From a distance it looked like a thick bracelet that stretched around his wrist but up close the message was clear. Engraved onto Chris' skin were the words: 'There is only power' – Wyatt's motto. This scar was permanent, Wyatt had seen to that. He'd been most disappointed when his own brother would not join him.

In Wyatt's eyes this scar served a purpose: to torment and persuade Chris to follow in his footsteps. However Chris, as always, was determined to do the opposite. He'd inherited his mother's stubbornness and quite frankly he was grateful. He didn't know where he'd be without that particular Halliwell trait.

He kept the marks well covered, sometimes even going to the extremes of glamour (or two watches if he was too tired to sustain the magic). The last thing Chris needed was more suspicion from the sisters, yet it was impossible to forget about the scars' presence. One thing was for sure: Chris had to make Wyatt's potential threat to the future as harmless as indelible pen.
