Defeating the Dark By Cassandra Bartoli
Draco Malfoy stalked through through one of the dark corridors of Hogwarts. His pale face was contorted in fury, puzzlement, and pain. He reached a staircase, then stormed upstairs to the Slytherin common room. As Draco reached the middle of the staircase, it began to move; finally Draco landed on the opposite side of Hogwarts than he had wanted to. "Damn it," he muttered, then walked down the stairs, around suits of armors, through other dusty corridors, and finally he found himself in the Slytherin's kingdom. "Lord Voldemort Reigns," Draco spat, and a hole in the grey stone wall materialized in front of Draco's cold, ice blue-gray eyes. In the afternoon hours of a warm October day, the Slytherin windows, barred shut- as always, were draped with dark green, letting none of the sun's rays in. Instead, lanterns were hanging from the concrete ceiling. Draco frowned. He would at least like to see sunshine on a day like this. It might make him feel a little bit better than he did. Well, he'd open the curtains in his Head Boy suite..if he ever made it in there. "Draaaaaaaaaaaaaco! Where have you been? I've been looking ALL OVER for you, my little precious snookums," purred Draco's longtime girlfriend, Pansy Parkinson. "Go away Pansy," Draco said as patiently as he could. "Oh, I see. You're planning a surprise for tonight, aren't you? My sweet little honey bunch," flirted Pansy. "What's tonight?" asked Draco tiredly. "Our anniversary, you cutie! Playing dumb, aren't ya? Awww, isn't that just the sweetest!" And Pansy shook her ass over to where her girlfriends Ursula and Mally were standing. Draco groaned inwardly. How could he have forgotten? Not tonight though- he wouldn't be able to celebrate tonight..not after what had happened. Two minutes later, Draco found himself in his suite, and locked himself in. He opened the windows, squinched his eyes at the bright glare of the sun, then pulled the curtains shut again. Feeling hungry, Draco conjured some sandwiches- then undressed and went to bed. He didn't feel like doing anything else today but thinking, and then possibly falling asleep. Pansy wouldn't come in.she was too dumb to even learn a simple unlocking spell. Draco layed (laid?) down on his four poster- and finally let go. Tears streamed down his pale face, leaving dark blothches on his pillows. "Why?" Draco whispered in despair, "Why did he have to do this to me?" Draco's family had been killed by Lord Voldemort.
(A/N: Yeah, Draco actually does have emotions. Can you believe it? I don't know if this is good or not- I just kind of wrote this half-consciously. This is going to lead up to chapters set ten years from this one- when Draco's going to defeat the Dark Lord for killing his parents. And then Draco will be faced with a choice- either to become the new Dark Master, or to abolish evil forever. BUT IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHETHER YOU GUYS LIKE IT!!! Review and tell me your opinions please- I don't mind if you say it's stupid, because it very well could end up like that. PS- sorry so short.)
