Link was panting for breath as he ran down the corridors of the hideout that he and his team were in, wondering if 'he' was in any of the rooms. Link thrust the first door open, but upon seeing it empty, he looked again.

Samus Aran was also helping out alongside Captain Falcon as she opened the door to yet another empty room.

"Where in blazes are you?" Link asked himself.

"Finally, we're here. After all these years." Samus said.

"Where are you?"

"Where on earth are you?"

Link felt tears welling in his eyes as he screamed out "MARTH!"

Suddenly, an explosion came from the other side of the hideout as a young man with spiky-blue hair and a black headband was picking himself up from the rubble, his blue eyes narrowing at his opponent. Samus was the first to greet him as she soon heard a hauntingly cold familiar voice.

"Samus…"

Samus felt her inhibitions leave her as she also turned her gaze up to the top of the crater. "Ma…rth…"

As soon as she said his name, Link also came out of the hallway to have blue clash against blue and he felt his heart accelerate as he looked up at their missing comrade and the descendant of Anri himself; Marth Lowell. White boots now adorned his feet as well as a short-sleeved light blue tunic and a red and white cape flowing in the wind along with his unchangeable blue hair. The difference was that he now had Falchion hooked on his side, the same divine sword of light that was used against Medeus.

Link narrowed his eyes to see how mature that the young man before them had become. "Ma…Marth."

Unsatisfied, Marth looked down at his former comrades with his blue eyes intensively. "Link." He said in his usual cold tone as the images of their last encounter raced through Link's mind.

"If everything you just said was true, then why didn't you kill me off that day? Weren't you going to sever our friendship… Marth?!" Link screamed at Marth, who looked at him unsatisfiedly.

"The reason is simple. Its not that I couldn't sever it, Link." Marth said, thinking back to what Mewtwo said to him. "I just couldn't stand the thought of obtaining power by walking in his footsteps. I spared your life on a whim… that's all there is."

Link didn't do anything as Marth swiftly made his way to him where he was standing, draping an arm on his shoulder as if embracing him.

"When did he get here?" Samus asked, shocked.

"You know, come to think of it. Wasn't it always been your dream of becoming a leader someday? All of the time you spent chasing after me would be better used in training. Wouldn't you agree… Link?" Marth asked, leaning into his ear.

"But this time, my thoughts are telling me…" He said as he grasped the handle of Falchion and pulled it out. "… to finish what I began."

Link suddenly froze as Marth successfully pulled out Falchion and positioned it to a stabbing point. "How can I ever become a leader when I can't even save a friend? Isn't that right… Marth?"

Marth slowly moved his sword to stab Link, shocking Samus as Link didn't do anything to stop him.

"Heh." Marth smirked before he thrust his blade into Link, but Link quickly grabbed his arm.

"Wait, before you kill me, why did you leave the mansion?"

"Because I wanted to reclaim my kingdom." Marth said, looking away from Link and lowering his sword.

"Your kingdom, Marth?" Samus repeated, her blue eyes squinting in the sunlight.

"Come on, we have work to accomplish!" Marth said, looking at both Link and Samus. The two nodded at the Prince and stood by him once again, ready to take back Altea…
