Save It For The Day, James's thoughts

Save It For The Day, James's thoughts

If I was to tell you?

Would you turn away?

If I was to mention…

Save it for the day

Save it for the night

Where the beasts prance and cry

Save it for my eyes

Where the sunlight glitter dies

If I was to slip away

The undecided night

Everything I said to you

Would you hold tight?

Save it for the dawn

Where I lie broken and deformed

Save it for the full moon

Ancient angst conformed

If I was to hold you

Would you fade away?

Good thing captured once

But gone the next day

Save it for the movies

Where all romance lies

Save it for the stories

Where everybody dies

Save it for the lovers

Where only they will know

Save it for the dreamers

Where will they know to go?

If I was to smile at you

And tell you how I feel

Would the darkness 'round me

Consume all that's real

Save it for the children

Where they will play all night

Save it for the poor

Where they have been denied

If I was to whisper

The way I feel right now

In the words I want to say

But just don't know how

Save it for the friends

Where they will never part

Save it for the surgeons

Only they can break a heart

Save it for the anarchists

Where is it that knows what is right

Save it for your inner peace

Where you are bound by ropes at night

If I was to kiss you

Would you pull away

Would you whisper haltingly

Save it for the day

No odd metaphors, no surreal notions…is the expression doomed conformity? Do you want me to stop with these loser poems?!
