"And what about you?" Elliott said, "What if all this years, the styx used their dark light on you, and turned you into someone I love?"

"What?" Will said, and turned to her.

"You heard", Elliott said softly and put her arms around him. Will held Elliott tight against him, and so did she. His hands were at her back, and his face on her shoulder. He could feel her soft cheek against his own. Will's heart was bumping faster then it had ever done before, he could feel it drumming in his chest as if it wanted to get out. Elliott was in love with him! She'd told him, and he could feel in his heart it was true. This was more than he'd ever dared to wish. He put his nose into her soft black hair and breathed her in. She smelled wonderful, somewhat like apples, and as soon as he'd felt her smell he decided that it was his favourite one.

"I love you to", Will said, and smiled, because it was so true. It was more than true. Never in his life he'd ever met someone like her, she was nothing like the other girls he knew. She was so different from everybody else. And she was so amazing, he thought. Why did she even love someone like him? He was clumsy, stupid and childish. But she was so perfect.

"Really?" Elliott said, and pulled him a bit away from her to look him in his eyes. He looked back at her and smiled. "I was afraid you liked Stephanie."

"Stephanie?" he said "Of course not! She's just so false. I love you, and nobody else. I've always done. From the very first time I met you." Elliott frowned.

"I wasn't very nice to you." she said and smiled when she remembered. Will laughed a little.

"No, but neither was I. So you're absolutely forgiven" he said.

"And so are you." Everything was so fine, right there at the top of the pyramid. Even though Drake was dead, they didn't know how to get out of the Garden of the Second Sun, and the Styx still wanted to see them dead. But they didn't care, not right now. Carefully, Will pushed his lips against hers in a bit clumsy but still wonderful kiss, when suddenly the sky opened up and the rain flowed down. They rushed down from the pyramid, and into the safe forest, hand in hand.
