Incredulous

By Aislinn

Overhead the sky was a glorious riot of color. The soft pinks and blues shot with deeper oranges and crimson. Below the desert gleamed in the last rays of golden sunlight while shadows deepened. The seven men stared at each other incredulously. A successful foray and none of them where injured? It was unheard of!

"That's it?" Vin studied the surrounding hills suspiciously all senses alert to a trap.

"Incred.. what?" JD held his bowler in his hand and scratched his head in confusion.

"Incredulously, JD, it means unwilling to admit or accept what is offered as true." Ezra stated.

"Huh, well why didn't she just say so then? Got no call to go using yer five dollar words," the boy grumbled. "And I ain't no boy neither!" he yelled to the sky.

In the distance they heard a long-suffering sigh "Well fine! I was trying to be nice, but if you really want hurt comfort I can certainly indulge you…."

Disclaimer: The seven are not mine, they belong to the alphabet people who quite frankly cannot be trusted with them, and so I am sneaking them out the back door to my place. If they where mine they would still be riding across our TV screens every week, except for Ezra and you don't want to know what he would be doing. ::wicked grin ;) ::
