The screen door slammed as a young girl ran out into the midnight rain. Her pink hair instantly became soaked, as did her clothes. Her red shirt clung to her body as her tears mixed in with the rain. There was some muffled yelling coming from inside the house, but she just ignored it her parents yelling was nothing new. She found herself sitting on a small wooden swing that hung from an oak tree in at the academy.

This was supposed to be her big day. Sakura's eighteenth birthday, and all that was on anyone's mind was the sudden engagement of her best friend Naruto and Hinata.. She was tired of hearing everyone congratulate them, and having to remind her guests that today was her birthday.

Her bare feet barely touched the ground as the wind gently moved the swing. The yelling from her house had stopped, and she could hear the gentle sound of laughter once again. She heard the sound of the door opening once again and chose to look away as someone walked towards her. Gentle hands were placed on her back, and soon the swing was moving faster.

"Sakur-chan, I'm really sorry about Naruto. He's just so excited about the whole thing." The sound of her voice gave her away. Tsunade was the only one with enough sense to check on her. "Today was supposed to be your special day."

"Thank you Tsunade-sama." She gave a small smile. "But I should be happy for him. He is my best friend." Tsunade continued to push her on the old swing, they both ignored the rain that was pouring on them.

"I don't blame you. This was your big day."

Sakura dragged her feet along the ground, forcing the swing to stop. "I overreacted." She hopped of the swing, and turned to face her. She could barely make out her features in the moonlight, her blond hair stood out the most.

Tsunade moved closer to the pink haired girl and place her hand on her shoulder. "Lets get you changed, your soaked." Sakura merely nodded as she led her inside through the back door. They were able to bypass both her parents, and all of the guests as they made their way to Sakura's bedroom.

Sakura just didn't realize how tired or cold she was until she saw her welcoming bed. She gave an involuntary yawn, and Tsunade chuckled. She quickly grabbed her pajamas and rushed into her adjoining bathroom to change. When she came out Tsunade was sitting on her bed, waiting for her.

"I'm just going to sleep. I'm sorry Tsunade-sama."

She smiled at her, as she pulled back the blue covers on her bed. She gladly clambered onto her bed and laid down. "I'll just tell them that your sleeping." She pulled the covers over her body and let them rest on her shoulders. "Good night Sakura-chan." She leaned down and kissed her on the forehead. "Sweet dreams."

She was asleep before she even left the room.
