So… I know it's been a few years and I have no excuses for the lack of updates but as you can guess by this, I'm BACK! Anyhow thanks for the people who left reviews, sorry it took more than four years to update.

Regarding these two stories i have on this account I have decided that I would concentrate on 'Journey' and then 'Flame'. On another note, I will be taking liberties with the legends and putting my twist on them. Hopefully those who view this story will give it a chance, i have high hopes!

Story Disclaimer: I know, I know, I understand that whatever you recognize here is not mine. It either belongs to Miss Meyer or The Quileutes. There I said it!

A JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME

Prologue

The Quileute Reservation was nestled in a smaller part of an already small town named Forks in the state of Washington. That specific reservation housed only a handful of descendants of a people who were once made up of strong warriors and unwavering women at their side. Those same men and women who at the time would have never thought they would become what they are now revered as: legends, have only one thought and that was to survive and protect. When in time of great need the aforementioned men would come to take the forms of a long time friendly predator, but the real mysteries laid with the women.

If the reservation only housed a handful of descendants of the spirit warriors then there was only one young woman who fit the allotted place of guide. Like with the warriors, only in times of great need will the guides appear.

Now in this day and age only one potential Guide was left and her name was Leah Clearwater.

When people were asked about Leah those who knew her in passing tell of impeccable manners and a subtle beauty that you can't help but to be drawn to, the beauty being one expressed from a physical standpoint. With her silky-long, black hair, her stature being not too tall nor too short and in later years her well developed figure coming out, no one who watched her in passing could say anything bad about her.

Now when asked about her to people who have laughed and cried with her, who have supported and been supported by her, well they will tell you that Leah Clearwater can be a bit of a pushover. She means well but sometimes when things don't go her way she will become this unstoppable force that should not be reckoned with. She was, is and always will be a daddy's girl.

One feature that all can agree to about this young woman is her smile. That smile can can brighten even the most grumpiest of beings' day.

What no one had any doubt about was that she had a bright future ahead of her, she just had to reach out. She was finishing high school with top marks, had a boyfriend who would do anything for her; a family who love and supported her….. but it was not to be.

All that happiness changed on the first week of April, before the end of their senior year. When her boyfriend of three years did not come for the dinner announcement both had to make to their families Leah began to freak out.

The week before, Sam Uley her longtime boyfriend and confidant, had made the decision to propose to Leah and she being as in love as she was, accepted. So she waited and waited but he did not come, not once for two weeks, killing Leah more and more each day he was not there.

"Leah, honey you have to stop this, Sam will come back, you'll see, he wouldn't want you to be acting this way: not eating, nor going outside and interacting with your friends and family. I know his disappearance hurts, but you gotta be strong and persevere." Harry Clearwater, Leah's father and an Elder of the Tribe stated trying to get to his daughter. Thinking he failed, Harry got up from the bed Leah was sitting on and went to leave when:

"Pappa I'm sorry, it's just that I miss him so much! I love him to death and we were going to announce our engagement to all of you but now... Oh Dad!" Leah flung herself towards Harry and he embraced his daughter tightly while at the same time shushing her cries whilst giving her comfort.

The next day, feeling invigorated by her time with her father, Leah came downstairs a few seconds before the phone rang. Jules, Sam's mother was calling and asking about how she was doing. Both drew strength from each other and kept talking. Whilst Jules's continued desperate wailings for her missing son were heard throughout the line Leah became determined to do something. She could not keep on staying home doing nothing while Sam could be hurt, or worse.

So the independent young woman, and with the support of her mother-in-law, her father, brother, and mother, alone organized a civilian search party that combined the people of Forks and of the La Push Reservation with the same goal in mind: finding their golden boy.

After another two weeks passed and it had now been a month of Sam missing, both Leah and Jules were beside themselves with worry for Sam was nowhere to be found yet they still had hope that he would one day soon reappear. And he did.

Leah had been walking all over First Beach, and towards Jules' house to get updated on the search for Sam, she was getting closer to the house when she heard some screaming between Jules and some man. Wanting to instinctively defend her mother-in-law-to-be, she started sprinting towards the screams so when the man who Jules was arguing with turned towards her as if hearing her footsteps from afar and widened his eyes, whispered;

"...Leah..."

She clearly became stunned, looking at the well developed body before her; his newly chopped hair, his growth spurt, his muscles and finally, his eyes.

"...Sam?...Oh Sam!" Leah suddenly exclaimed while running and flinging herself towards the-now-gigantic form of her fiance and love of her life.

"How?...I mean, I'm glad you are here, but..." Leah's babbling was cut short by Sam giving her one deep kiss; one of the ones that move all her insides and made her fly with the euphoria that came with the knowledge that you are loved and always will be.

"Leah, I'm glad you're here to talk some sense into the boy, because even though I am excited to see my child again I won't stand for lies or any type of disobedience and after what he told me; looking like he was mauled by some kind of animal to boot."

Jules stated, while looking at the embraced couple with a fond smile; no one noticing that a distinct recognition and desperation was held in the mother's eyes.

Leah, wanting to get answers from her fiance as to his whereabouts, gently but firmly pushed and shuffled back; took his head in between her hands, came closer... and started bombarding Sam with questions, again.

"Where were you? What happened to you? Are you alright? What were you doing?"

Sam pressed a finger to her mouth to silence her and started,

"Lee-Lee I'm alright now that you are here: with me."

Sam brought her close to his chest and planted his face on her neck as if smelling her while Leah laid her's on his shoulders. They stayed there as if immersed on each other, time stopping and the world revolving around them.

That would be the last true euphoric moment they would have between them in a long while.
