(this story was posted on December 20, 2013 and this Prologue was made in 2019)
this story was inspired by BeatriceBirchwood01's story and I did get permission to write this story.
this Prologue is a little new and just wrote and posted in January 2019
and the chapter was moved up, and even if on December 30, 2018 it seems like there was a updated chapter on this
but really the editing update was being a little slow, and lucky I did export Chapter 1.
maybe it was just my end that was having trouble, it just seem it was going over the minutes it takes for the update to finish.
by the way back then when I had wrote this, I had no idea about placing 'Third Point of View' and not 'No Point of View'
to show it isn't really one person's point of view but now I do put down Third Pov now that I know,
and well if I am able to I will fix that but I will take my time and not rush into it
by the way in this Prologue, Bernice's Eyes Are Dark Blue with both eyes have amber at the bottom making both eyes look like a sunset
in Chapter 1 it says that her eyes are Amber and I had decided that she wears full amber color contact lenses to hide her 'sunset looking eyes',
plus I had decided that before I start on the other crossovers of The Lost Birchwood Saga that I plan to do
I'm going to do a Who Framed Roger Rabbit only type The Lost Birchwood Saga
after the Undertale/Roger Rabbit part of The Lost Birchwood Saga is over with and done
plus I had also decided to make another chapter to go with this Prologue, it will be Chapter 118
which means the chapters for this will be 119
once again this story was first posted around 2013, so this Prologue is very new and had to be moved up
and sorry it isn't perfect but I tried my best on this prologue
and I hope some of you enjoy it as well as the new added chapter that is the epilogue.
[Third Pov]
1995 in the month of July
a small baby girl was in a room, the doctors were surprise that Mrs Birchwood was in fact having triplets
the fragile baby was on life support but couldn't be moved to the same room where her family was presently at
the doctors thought it was a bad and risky idea to move her too soon
the doctors told the youngest baby's father and he was surprise too
"so I have two daughters and one son? but we were told we would just have twins, not triplets."Abbot said in astonishment
"it happens, sometimes these happy surprises happen...what would you like to name her?"the doctor asked him with a smile while holding a clip board
after a long pause of thinking of the right name, he knew the answer from just looking at her.
"Berenice...Berenice Archangela Serenity Birchwood."
"would you like me to inform your wife Scarlett about this little surprise as well as your youngest triplets name?"the doctor said as he writes down the name
"no, there is no need...at least not yet...maybe once everything settles down she can find out about Berenice."Abbot said
as he looks at the baby before leaving with the doctor, he would come back after checking up on Scarlett.
even if Baby Berenice's eyes were closed she could hear a voice say something to her
Misery
Loneliness
Fear
Doubt In Oneself
she didn't understand those words, but they seem to scare her all the same
that is until another voice came "ENOUGH! YOU SHALL NOT CURSE THIS CHILD!"
it was a woman's voice
and that woman was Enchantress who was glaring daggers at the woman who would dare place such a misfortune curse on a newborn
"you should not be here Doom! why are you targeting this girl with such a forbidden spell, and I know it is you even if your form is different."
the woman looked like Anjelica Huston but she was wearing the same outfit and glasses that Judge Doom wears in the movie
"your pretty smart Enchantress to know who I am, but I am not the incarnation of Judge Doom of this present day I am from the future
from the year 2021...you must know what's coming to the toon world, a total reboot..."
"yes we know, it happens every century or few years...it is just a way of toon life but I and everyone else had learn to accept it..."
the last time the toon world was rebooted the toon planet transform from black & white to color of different kinds
and not just light gray or dark gray or black or white...some toons stayed black & white even living in towns and cities that were still black & white
"learn to accept it?"Doom questioned but then laughed, no more like cackled
"you really think all of them are happy with being force to change? sure not all of them can remember a time before the reboot but honestly do you need to lie?"
"some might of not been happy with the change, but it is what it is...the only time they don't change is if they are away from both toontown and the toon world."
"well that wont be a problem for much longer..."
"what are you implying Doom?"
"I guess Yen Sid never told you did he?"
"told me what?!"
"that all toons will be homeless soon enough and be force to evacuate to the human world...those who don't make it through the tunnel Yen Sid will use a spell to transport everyone out of the toon world."
what could she mean by that?
"it is a shame really, as it keeps me from trying to destroy toontown again to build a casino, but at least it wont happen for some time when I do try to destroy toons and their homes to make the casino but it has already happen where I come from right now so it has been a few years since the destruction of the toon world happen...around 2014, would you like to know who caused it?"
Enchantress while still pointing her magic wand at the Doom from the future, let's out a gulp as she keeps her guard up
then she watches as the woman's black painted nail finger points to Berenice
"it is her, she causes the destruction of the toon world in 2014...would you like the details?"
"fine...but not here, we will speak at outside of the castle of the Beast."
"if you wish...see you there Enchantress or should I call you by your real name?"
"go!"
"fine fine, I'm going I'm going...no need to get testy sweetie."then with that the woman who is Doom from the future teleports away to the meeting place
then no sooner did she leave, Enchantress placed her own spell on Berenice to help the girl be able to fight back the curse
she could only hope it will be enough but something still bothered her...
how could one girl cause the toon world, the home of all toons to be destroyed and how could Yen Sid know about it?
she needed answers and she needed to know how to prevent such a future from happening
but first things first...she took the baby, she had to.
she took a piece of paper and wrote on it with magic while still holding the sleeping baby girl in her arms
who was awake before but had fallen asleep when Enchantress and 'Lady Doom' was having their banter with each other
then she wrote another letter this time to Abbot, telling him everything and her reasons on taking Berenice.
"I just hope I'm doing the right thing by taking her...but it is for her safety."
when Enchantress took Berenice, the hospital had found out there was a kidnapping and chose not to tell Abbot or his family
this was after Abbot read the letter from Enchantress, who added a amnesia spell in it
that would take effect after he read it, then he would forget the letter as well as Berenice
at least until he meets her again and he will remember the letter and everything he read in it word for word.
then as Enchantress was using a spell to teleport to Los Angeles
she couldn't help but wonder if Berenice had to do with a old prophecy she read in one of Yen Sid's books
it had to do with a girl who was burning at the stake and a curse on the toon world
the girl said when she reincarnates she would destroy everyone's hopes and dreams that lives in toons
but that happen a long time ago...during the witch trails, back when toons were just created by magic
by transforming normal animals into toons but in doing so will cause accusations of witchcraft
Enchantress let's a single tear drop as she remembered before she was a toon she was a little girl who watched her mother be burned at the stake
for being a witch, she really shouldn't think of that memory...she had to focus on taking Berenice to a orphanage in Los Angeles
then she will go meet with Judge Doom from the future so she can get the answers about how Berenice supposedly destroys the toon world
in the year 1998
in a orphanage in Los Angeles, a group of children were sleeping either on the floor or on the couch
with the small rabbit eared television being on
(at the moment the orphanage is having money troubles so they can't afford the new televisions that have been around for some time.)
one of the children that have not yet went to sleep, was just siting in front of the tv as it was on
but instead of a picture or cartoons or people talking about cooking or the news
it was just static and snow, not real snow but you get it right?
the little girl had big dark blue eyes with amber at the bottom of both eyes, making her eyes resemble a sunset
her hair was very messy, she was hugging a doll in her arms as her eyes squinted at the tv as if she was concentrating
just then the light turns on, a woman named Mrs Minako Freeman
(her husband had his own restaurant down town called Fancy Freeman's Family Diner)
had been the one to turn on the light switch
and saw that all the children (all but one that is) were all out cold asleep
"Berenice what do you think your doing sitting so close to the tv? you will ruin your eyes that way."Minako said
as she fast walks over to her and picks the little girl up in her arms and giving her a scolding look
before sighing and asking her once more why she was sitting so close to the tv.
"now I will ask you once more, why were sitting so close to the tv?"
"my new friend told me it was the best way to watch tv."the 3 year old said with a cheerful smile
"new friend?...this isn't like the last one is it? where they told you if you leave butter in front of the door it will keep out the trolls right?"
"but they are real! the trolls are real! they tried to take me before when I was a baby! the strange little man who sneezed a lot said so!"
"that sounds awful a lot like Sneezy from Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs."
"you know him too?!"the child's eyes widen in surprise before Minako places the child back on her small feet
"sweetie, Sneezy is just a cartoon character from a movie based on the Snow White story that was a little bit different from it's successors of today."
"how so?"the little girl asked as she tilts her head to the right in confusion as she did not understand how a movie she of this 'Snow White and Seven Dwarfs'
was different from the one it is based on.
"well it really isn't just Snow White, I mean Sleeping Beauty's original story was...well let's just say different from the Disney version, but you are too young
to hear about those originals so it is best you just head to bed for now okay? your too little to be staying up this late anyway."
"but the monster with red eyes will get me!"
Minako got down on both her knees and places a hand on the girl's shoulder
"Bernice...there is no monster with red eyes hiding in your wardrobe, we been through this since you were 2 years old...you know that right?"
"but the monster with red eyes is real! he only doesn't come out if I sing or play the special song that my friend taught me."
with a sigh she picks the little girl Berenice (or Bernice as she likes to be called) up and starts to take her out of the large living room
she would wake up the other children later after she takes this one to bed and clean up the mess they all left on the floor
working for Mrs Gray wasn't easy but the children were very sweet and affectionate when they weren't being all wild and breaking things
and Berenice was a sweet child and very curious, even if she does have certain weakness like having the faint spells because of how her body is
and herself and all the rest of the people who work here having to to make sure she doesn't do anything too dangerous
when she listens to her imaginary friends
just last week, the janitor caught her trying to free one of teen's pet snake
but even if it could of ended up placing not just Berenice and the rest of the children in danger
it was very adorable she told Mr Frankel that the snake told her to do it
Mr Frankel got a kick out of that and he was even trying to keep himself from laughing as he told the rest of the staff and Mrs Gray what happen
Minako knew that Berenice really did thought she could hear the animals, so what she said wasn't really a lie
but it is just she has a very interesting imagination everyone thought.
but still she found it strange how a small child was able to tame that mean dog that came to the orphanage that one time about a month ago
(before Berenice turned 3 years old)
and it was one of the deadest known breeds in the world and it was as big as a lion
she forgot what it was called, oh right it was called Tibetan Mastiff.
it seem very mad and was growling at everyone both adult, teen and child that even looked at it
Mrs Gray had order that all the the staff and older children keep the younger children away from the dog when she calls the animal control
and then Berenice came outside, Minako and everyone else thought that she was still taking her nap
but guess she was woke up by the barking and screaming
at first everyone didn't see her come out or even get that close to the dog,
but as soon as Mrs Gray stop talking on the phone and said that the animal control were on their way
she almost let's out a scream but covers her mouth when she saw the 2 year old girl still in her footy pajamas
everyone was too scared to do anything, but Mr Frankel wasn't and he was about ready to go rush in there and grab the baby girl
when something amazingly and surprising happen
the tibetan mastiff, started to lick Berenice's face and making her fall down on her small bottom and making her giggle in the process
it had seem that the dog had taken a shine to her, but they really couldn't risk Berenice or the other children's safety
Mrs Gray told all the children to go back inside and wait until animal control takes the tibetan mastiff away.
it did seem to break Mrs Gray's heart to make the little girl cry as the men and women from animal control took the dog away
even watching Berenice trying to reach for the dog in tears broke Minako and Frankel's heart but it had to be done
the orphanage could have a dog, but not that dog it was too risky
they had to put the safety of the children first.
Minako might not ever understand how that dog wouldn't let anyone else get close to them, but when Berenice did
it seem to calm down and was fine, maybe it was one of those love at first sight things
when a person and animal meet there is this type of bond that forms between them
sadly the bond that Berenice formed with that lion size tibetan mastiff couldn't last, it had to be taken away for her and the other children's own good and well being.
as they reached the nursery part of the building that was down a hall past the other rooms of the rest of the older children
Minako goes inside the room and sees the many empty beds, Berenice was the only girl her age still at the orphanage
so she had the nursery room all to herself at the moment.
as Minako tucked in Berenice she told her that she isn't allowed to stay up that late again and that one of the older children should of escorted her to bed in first place
as she was about to leave a small hand grabbed two of her fingers
she looked down and could see the frighten look on Berenice's face
"Berenice for the last time, there is no monster with red eyes in the wardrobe, I mean whats next your going to say it is that Judge Doom from that movie of Who Framed Roger Rabbit...so help me if one of the older kids let you watch that with them I am gonna spank everyone of their rears."
"their name isn't Judge Doom...but if he's a judge shouldn't he be holding a 'gravel'?"
"that's gavel, but you were close this time...your doing better not mixing up words."Minako said with a smile as she places a gentle hand on the girl's blond head of hair
she knew that children Berenice's age can mix up words at times and it was normal, but Minako got the feeling she will keep doing it in the future
that feeling made her make sure to give the girl extra attention in teaching her to not mix up her words
"so what is the name of this monster with red eyes if you don't mind me asking?"Minako asked as she sits down on the little girl's bed
"they told me not to say because they will take away someone I love if I told them their name."
"now that is just silly, that monster is just a part of your imagination no one will be taken if you tell me their name."
"I can't, they will hurt you if I do..."
"Berenice I am not playing, just tell me the monster's name that is supposedly in your wardrobe"Minako used both her fingers to make the sarcasm air quote
before adding "and we can move on." the little girl shook her head no but Minako kept asking until...
"HIS NAME IS REGOR!"
"there now was that so hard? now I'm going to show you that there is no monster named Regor in your wardrobe okay?"
"no don't! you can't!"
but it was too late, Minako open the wardrobe and a shadow like toon rabbit with deer antlers was looking at Minako with eyes of blood red with no pupils or white in sight
then next came out of both Minako and the little girl's mouth was a blood curdling scream.
the next day Minako was taking out the orphanage on a stretcher as she spoke like a crazy person about a monster in the wardrobe
after the trauma from seeing Minako, the nicest woman who had worked at the orphanage
almost getting killed by Regor
Berenice started to block out the memory of that night as well as Regor
all she would remember is the night Minako got hurt and had to be taken to the hospital the next day after she woke up to find her wounded next to Berenice's wardrobe
but the memory of Regor will come back to her and when it does
she will once again have to keep others safe and keep them from opening the wardrobe that houses Regor The Rabbit
but he will not appear for some time...
but when he does, she will become his puppet to take revenge on Roger Rabbit
