The Story of Mutant X

Chapter1

I stare up at the night sky. It was beautiful. I thought moving to New York would make the sky dull and boring with not many stars. I was wrong. The sky was so clear. My mom and I moved to Bayville the day before and I wasn't enrolled in school. She said she was going to enroll me the next day. I didn't care. This would be my fith time moving. I've been through seven schools. I had no friends. Mom told me this was the last time we moved. I hoped she was right. Try being only fifteen and never having a place to truly having a place to truly call "home."

I looked back at my new house. It was huge, well, huge for only two people. I layed down in the cool, damp grass. It was the best feeling in the world. My fantasy was broken by my mom calling me inside. "Matty! You need to come inside and rest for tomorrow! You're getting enrolled!" she called. I groaned. "Coming!" I called back. I ran inside and looked at my reflection in the mirror. My blue-ish hair had grass stuck in it and my eyes had bags under them. I looked my reflection in the eyes. They always seemed to flash between their navy-blue color to a bright yellow that seemed to glow. I smiled sleepily. I picked all the grass out my hait and went to my room to take a nap. I looked at the clock. 10:30 at night. I fell asleep.

The next morning I ran to the kitchen. "Mom, do we have any apples?" I called. "In the fridge!" she called with a hint of annoyance. I looked at the time. 8:15 in the morning. "Oh. . . I woke mom up. . . That's why she was annoyed," I thought to myself. The doorbell rang. "Matty! You have company!" mom called to me. We just moved here and I had company? I looked around my room, only, I wasn't in my room. I was in the guest room. I ran from the guest room toward the living room.

I looked at my wrist to see the time when I saw my watch was gone. Not only that, but my five-fingered, regular hand was now blue, fuzzy, and three-fingered. I looked myself over. My whole body was blue and fuzzy. I had a tail that looked like an arrow at the end. Two toes are on each foot. "Please, stay where you are," a man's voice said in my head. I stopped in my tracks in the hallway. The same voice came from the living room. "Mrs. Connors, has Matty ever taken off her watch?" he asked. "No, she never took it off. She thought it was from her father. I could never tell her it was on her when I adopted her. Why? It's just a watch and she's just as normal as anyone else," my mom answered, obviously lying. What was going to happen to me?
