It was pouring rain and the sky was overcast in gray. This wasn't unusual for Forks but the weather seemed to reflect the mood of the town that day. Mourners from all over town came to mourn for the Chief of Police's daughter. It was a small, simple service. Friends from high school came and wondered why they had never gotten to know her better. Charlie held Renee as she cried and though his cheeks were wet too, he would swear it was the rain. Jacob came and mourned the girl that – he thought – he should have been able to save.

They were all there. They came and said goodbye and comforted each other. Long after the service was over, people stood in the rain and remembered Bella. But it was not until the last person, shivering from the rain, went home that a family walked out of the woods to the now empty funeral site. Dressed all in black and huddled together, they stood there.

If only I had stopped him from leaving. I knew what it would do to both of them and now look where we are. Carlisle held his sobbing wife close for comfort. They stood towards the back and thought of the girl who had almost been their daughter.

Why didn't I see it sooner? Cruel fates making me see her die when there was nothing I could do to stop it. If I had just stayed to protect her... Alice also stood by her husband for comfort. His hand in hers helped ease the turmoil in her head.

I started this all. Why can't I control myself? If it hadn't been for me at that party, none of us would be here now. Jasper looked at Edward and wondered if his brother hated him.

I know I never liked her, but I never wanted this. Edward loved her so much and all I did was reject her. If I had given her a chance, could we have been friends? Rosalie stood with Emmett a little way off from the rest of the family, kicking herself for how she had acted. I'm sorry, Edward..

Edward stood alone closest to the grave. He knew that, no matter what the others were thinking, it was all his fault. He had tried to protect her; give her happiness. Instead he had killed her as he always feared he would. "Bella," he spoke, seeming loud in the silence. "Bella, can you hear me? I'm sorry. I'll never forgive myself for doing this to you. I'm sure you're in a better place, though. A place where its always sunny and there's no danger. You deserve that. I love you, Bella."

He fell to his knees on her grave. He laid his head against her grave and sobbed quietly. Grief weighed him down and he didn't know how he could ever be whole again. She's in the arms of the angels now.

Alice was wearing a black dress she had bought for the occasion – maybe the first article of clothing she had not enjoyed buying. Despite the expensive dress, she dropped to her knees beside her brother. She traced the letters on the grave before placing her hand on the ground. Closing her eyes, it seemed as if she was reaching for her lost sister.

One by one the Cullens came forward to say their last goodbyes to the girl who had made their family whole. Together they sat at her grave and remembered her in their own ways. No one knew how long they stayed there, it didn't matter. They stood there with the rain pouring down on them, washing away the pain like the tears they could not shed.

Her memory will live on

in our hearts

forever.

Tell me what you guys think please. Oh in case your wondering Jake was too late to save Bella from drowning.
