"Mother why is your stomach getting so big?" asked a three year old with onyx eyes, tugging on the woman's dress.
The women laughed her onyx eyes brimming with happiness. She then stopped, her face softening. Her son stood patiently waiting for an answer. It wasn't just her stomach, it was her whole attitude. She had been much more happy then usual. Itachi had thought it was because the war had ended. But then she started getting bigger.
"Well," Mikoto began, then started to giggle. Itachi tilted his head in wonder and confusion.
"You see," She giggled. "I'm… well, pregnant." She finished with a big grin.
Itachi looked at her. "Is that anover word for fat?" Itachi questioned. After all, women who said they were pregnant were fat. So this sort of made sense to the toddler. But, why was his mother happy? Shouldn't she be trying to loose weight?
Mikoto stared at him for a long time with an odd look on her face. Maybe he shouldn't of said fat. He looked to the direction of their garden near the steps they were at. He frowned then looked back to his mother.
"Am I in trovel?" He said asked with sad eyes.
"No, Itachi." His mother replied softly. "Pregnant doesn't mean fat. It means…" She paused. "It means you are to have a little brother or sister."
Itachi's eyes widened. His mouth opened then closed again. Brother… Sister….? I'm gonna be a big brother…
"Itachi?" said Mikoto anxiously.
He looked up at her then grinned. He was so happy! He was going to have a baby sibling. He was going to be a big brother!
Mikoto's eyes widened. This was the most emotion she had ever seen from Itachi. It made her heart melt into pure happiness. This was certainly to be her favorite year. First the war ended, then she found out she was with child again, and now she had just seen Itachi's first true smile. Perhaps this child will make Itachi more of a child, make him feel more emotions.
Mikoto Uchiha looked to the sky. The sun was beaming down at her. She then saw three crows fly across them. Crows were bad luck… no they meant change. Which means all their bad memories of the war were to be replaced with happy ones of her children. Oh... how she looked forward to raising her children. She just prayed they wouldn't grow up hating each other.
A/N: Yeah, very short, but I think I ended it quite nicely. Hope you liked it and thank you for reading my tiny little oneshot. Please review if you have the time!
