Chapter 1

(3rd person view)

It was the first day of school and she walked into the classroom and quietly sat at her seat as the bell rang. She was new this year and she was excited to see how the Japanese play basketball. She was from America so she didn't speak Japanese well but she had studied the language so she could understand quite abit.

The bell had just rang and she sat in her seat, in the corner of the room she noticed a certain tall red head staring out the window. She thought nothing of his familiar red hair and just faced forward with her long, curly, black hair in her face. She was dressed in the uniform much like the others except for her arm which had a golden embroidered star to tell other students that she was a transfer student from another country. Her hair was long and black (sometimes curly but mostly straight) and very messy when she was tired but as for the rest of her she seem very… kept. Her name was Hanami, Hanami Montgomery.

(1st person view)

When the bell for lunch rang I took out a small package, it was a Twinkie, and before I could open it and devour the delicious sponge cake a girl who smelled of pure hairspray and had far too much makeup walked by, knocking it out of my hands and stepping on it, "What the hell did I step on?! Its so messy and my shoes is a mess to! Are you gonna pay for this?!". I glared at her as she shivered a little "whatever!" she ran out, leaving my Twinkie (squished and uneatable) on the floor.

As soon as she left I stood up and was emmiting pure rage and stayed in my seat until the bell rang and class continued. At the end of the day I ran out the door when I passed him, the tall red head. It seemed like he recognized me because he turned around when I passed him and said "hey you!" I knew this voice and I smirked without him seeing. I stopped and thought to myself, 'I think I'll play a game with Taiga-chan.', I continue to run while he chased after me.

He ran down the halls yelling my name as I slid swiftly around every corner. "Hana! Hanami!" he yelled which really annoyed me as I ran through the doors to the gym. He was very far behind and you would have sworn that I had a 30 minute head start, in the middle of the gym was a single basketball. I picked it up and made a three point shot easily when he finally came busting through the doors. He wasn't worn out too much and I just stared at him as he picked up the basketball, "Practice is about to start and unless you want to apply for the manager I think that you might want to go, I know you love basketball but sometimes you criticize to much." I looked at him obviously irritated and smirked again, "then I'm going to apply for manager" you should have seen the look on Kagami's face.

People started to come in for practice, most were scared by her hairstyle, and she just smiled until she saw the coach. She instantly went to the coach and told her that she wanted to apply for manager when she said that there was one other that also wanted to apply so they would have to play a game and the winner would get the manager title. The other applicant came in and guess this, it was the same girl who had demolished my Twinkie!

Kagami and I giggled when the dumb girl told the coach that she could play basketball 'really well'. The coach looked at me as if she was asking with her eyes if I could play, "I can play basketball" I said as she smiled "good then its settled, the game you will play will be Basketball"
