PITIFUL SPECIMEN

From the depths of his blanket cocoon, Dean eyed the remote across the room then eyed the television. Back and forth. "Saaaaaammy…" He sniffled and snuffled before repeating hoarsely, "Saaaaaammy?"
"What, Dean?"
"Hand me the remote."
"It's right there, Dean," Sam muttered. "It's not like it's on a remote desert island, you know."
"'s too far away." Dean injected just the right amount of quiver in his voice. "'nd I'm sick." He forced a fake little cough that quickly turned into a very real bout of hacking.
The remote appeared in front of him, accompanied by two little white pills.
