Standing in the middle of the garage Kate Connor had never felt so lonely , looking around the empty room she let out a sigh . She had watched as her friends paired off Luke and Aliyah , Zeedan and Rana ..Rana she didn't even know if she could call her a friend anymore .
Kate was confused , for the first time in her life she was utterly and completely baffled, she had been on cloud nine only an hour ago , the happiest she had ever felt , but now seeing Rana walk away with Zee ? she had crashed right back to earth .
Stepping out onto the cobbles she wondered when her life had become so complicated. It had always been so simple , meet a girl . have a laugh and see how it went but with Rana Kate had never experienced what she was feeling now, her heart was full and it was excruciating . She was her friend , her best friend and she had always loved her but never would she have thought they would end up like this . Rana was straight , she was married for goodness sake how on earth could she have predicted this? , predicted any of it? but she had awakened something inside of her , made her see her friend in a whole new light and after today kate knew that it was the most beautiful sight she had ever seen .
They had fought , fought with each other , fought their feelings but finally they had been honest , had given into what had been building up for months and it had been glorious . They had kissed before but never like this , it had been so pure so intimate every ounce full of love there was no doubt about that . Rana loved her , she could feel it . her hands on her shoulders the passion when they kissed it was obvious , it was raw and it broke kates heart to know that they would never experience that feeling again .
A tear rolling down her cheek she made her way up the stairs to the flat , it could never be it had been a beautiful thought in the moment and for that short time she honestly believed it could work , they could have their happily ever after but the truth was the fairytale she had imagined could only end in tragedy . Rana may love her , but she also loved Zedan and Kate knew how hard that would be for her to walk away , being with kate would cause Rana so much pain ,That was why she was going to Spain .
If she had to see them tonight she has to calm down , a shower , she would have a shower hopefully the warmth will ease some of the tension
Zeedan had opened the door , quickly ushering her into the living room to where Luke and Aaliyah were already at the table the former scowling at her from his seat . Why couldn't he try to understand? Sitting down she looked up at the sound of footsteps , Rana .
She had changed too , gorgeous as ever her hair now loose and flowing around her shoulders curls framing her face as she looked up and their eyes met across the room God she was beautiful .
Sharing a shy smile Rana sat down beside her, their thighs brushing accidentally causing kate to inhale sharply and luke to roll his eyes .
She needed to get some composure .
The night had been an interesting one , and surprising to say the least never had she seen Rana speak to Zeedan in such a way and she couldn't help but wonder if what was going on between them had something to do with it .
She was feisty and firm as she spoke and kate couldn't help but smirk as she turned her fury to Luke . She was truly something else and as she watched Kate knew that she couldn't go to spain , she couldn't leave her ..it would be hard yes and she didn't know if one or both of them would end up with their heart broken but even with all the uncertainty of what the future held one thing was for certain . Rana filled Kate with a warmth to which no spanish sun could ever compare .
