It's been three nights since Dean last slept. He can't unsee what has been haunting his dreams. He saw it happen, it's not fake. His lover died trying to save him. But he would've liked it better if he died. He pulls off his covers and turns on the light. Surprisingly Sam doesn't wake up. He packs his duffel and walks out the door, shutting off the light. He runs to the Impala and drives off. It's only 30 minutes away from the site where all his nightmares came true. The death of Cas. He sits on the steps and prays, uncaring of who else might hear.

"Cas, buddy. I need you. Where did you go? Cas I-I don't understand. You said you'd always be there for me. But your not are you?! Cas, I know you probably don't hear me but, I love you. I always have. Ever since I met you I-"

"Hello, Dean. You called?"

"But-but you were dead. Wha-"

"I didn't die. I just needed you to think I was. I got all your prayers. But Sam needs you. And I can't get in the way of that. Please, just go back and pretend-"

Dean kisses his angel fiercely, putting him off guard. Cas doesn't know what to do, so he stood still, slowly giving into the temptation. For an hour they sit there, kissing. The only thing that stops them is Dean's phone ringing.

"It's Sam. Hello?" Dean answers.

"Yeah I know Sam. I'm sorry. I needed to get away. There's been a lot bothering me. I'm coming home okay? I'll be there in two hours. Yes, that is how far away I am. Okay, bye." Dean says over the phone.

"But Dean, your only thirty minutes away... why would you say..." Cas trails off.

Dean leans in and kisses Cas. After a minute he pulls away, looking into his angel's eyes.

"Is the answer clear now?" Dean asks.

Cas leans close in and whispers in Dean's ear, "Crystal."
