Lily Luna Potter lay awake in her bed in the late night. It was the night before she was off to Hogwarts, and she was nervous. Not even the full moon shining outside could relax her. She crawled out of bed and tip toed across the hall to the room that her eldest brother, James, slept in.

James had decorated his room in Gryffindor colors. Everywhere you looked there were Gryffindor banners, scarves, and pictures of him and his friends. There were posters of his favorite Quidditch teams, and his favorite bands, and a picture of him and the Gryffindor Quidditch team. But there was one picture that Lily loved the most, it hung right over James's bed. It was a picture of James, Albus, and Lily, all smiling and waving at the camera. She stared at the picture a long time before shuffling over to the lump of covers that was her brother.

She pulled the book he was reading, Quidditch Through the Ages, off his bed and set it on the nightstand next to his round glasses.

Lily gently nudged her brother and when he didn't wake up, she poked him hard in the back. "James!" she whispered.

"Wha?" he rolled over and sleepily opened his eyes. When he saw his little sister he lifted the blankets for her to crawl into his bed.

"Wha's wrong Lils?" he mumbled.

"I'm scared Jamie," she whispered.

"Why's that Lily?"

"I want to go to Hogwarts, but I'm scared I won't be good enough. I'm scared I won't be in Gryffindor like you and Al, and Rosie. I'm scared that I'm not going to be smart enough, and that I won't have any friends. I'm just scared."

"Lily," he pulled her close to his chest and ran his fingers through her hair, the way she liked. "You shouldn't be worried. You'll be just fine. It doesn't matter if you're not in Gryffindor, we'll love you no matter what. Everybody will like you instantly, you'll have tons of friends, and you'll grow up to be a fine, brilliant, young witch. I promise."

Lily looked up at her older brother, and smiled. Her brown eyes met his hazel eyes, and she knew that James, and Albus, would always be there to protect her. The fears she had about Hogwarts melted away as she sank back into sleep, her brother cradling her in his arms.
