Chapter One
Melody Taylor
I'm Melody Taylor, yeah, yeah, go on take the mick out of my name just because my name is after a type of music, so what.
Anyway I am the 14 year-old daughter of L.T Horatio Caine and Emily Marie Taylor who were divorced about 6 months after I was born, so I don't know my father too well and I hate my mother for having full custody of me, as she is a vile person and an abusive mother to me for the past 14 years.
There are a lot of rows that go on in the apartment that we live in with my uncle Mac Taylor (who is my mother's brother and a friend of my father's) .
You see it is through my uncle Mac that I know the basic facts about my dad and where he lives which is in Miami and what he is like. I get told that I look like my dad but have my mother's eyes. So after yet another row and a screaming fit about her being a cruel person to her daughter, that I finally had enough of my mother and stole some money for a ticket to Miami (yeah,yeah I know that I shouldn't have done that,whatever) and got in contact with my father's sister in law to meet me at the airport.
My aunt Yelana is my dad's sister in law who is/was married to my uncle Raymond Caine Sr (who was killed in Rio in Brazil) is to meet me at the airport and take me to the Miami Dade Crime Lab where my dad works and so that he can be reunited with his long lost 14 and a half yr old daughter who he hasn't seen since I was 6 months old. (again I hate my mother).
Aunt Yelana said to me over the phone that she would try to get a hold of my dad. "Melody you do know it will be hard to get a hold of Horatio as he is a suspect in a case at the moment, but I'll see what I can do sweetheart" she said to me.
Hang on DAD, a suspect in a case! I hoped that she was only pulling my leg about this. but then again who am I to complain about this as I will become involved in stuff like this as I want to be a CSI: like my dad when I'm eighteen.
