"You again?" he exclaimed in frustration. "Just how many times have I wished that the fifth person that walked through my cafe, would be the one I'm destined with and every single time, YOU show up?"

The man lifted his cup of black, steaming coffee to his lips and took a sip. He broke out in a wide smile,

"Then, should I be lucky that I'm your destined one?"

"You're not my destined one, need I remind you. We're enemies, we're not allowed to be even together romantically. It's forbidden," the teen sighed going back to the counter and concocting another drink for another waiting customer.

The man sat musing as his eyes traveled over the lithe frame of the younger man as he made his way over to another table and showing a smile that he rarely saw flashed towards him. In all honesty, he was quite jealous of the fact that the young werewolf could even smile that brightly.

He raised his hand slightly to catch the attention of the younger man and a frown worked its way onto his face when he noticed that a sigh escaped the man's lips as he walked over to him. Edward stared at Jacob and frowned slightly,

"What's with that look for? Are you bothered that I'm here?"

"What's your order? Don't tell me you called me over here so that you can be entertained with a small chat from me. In case you haven't noticed, I have some customers waiting to be served their coffee."

"Alright. I'll let you go. But after you complete my request," Edward stated.

"Fine, what's your request, ?" Jacob asked. The vampire merely smiled inwardly,

"I want you to smile for me. Your genuine smile, if you please."

The young werewolf was taken aback by the random request and glared,

"Stop playing, leech. Now what's your real request."

"That's as real as a request as I'll ever give," Edward answered promptly and calmly. Jacob tested out his cheek muscles a bit, trying his hardest to smile genuinely in front of the vampire and his mortal enemy. But it came off as looking constipated.

"Is it really that hard? I mean, you showed it so easily to people you don't know and yet you have a hard time doing it to someone you know very well. I'm hurt, Jacob Black."

Jacob just glared at the vampire, "Well for your information, I can't really smile on command. It just doesn't work that way. And, if you really want a genuine smile from me, then I have to have a concrete reason why I would have to smile naturally in your presence."

"I guess you make a good point, Jake. I would never smile around you either. At least, not genuinely. Maybe it's a lost cause afterall," Edward gave in and drank the last drop of his coffee and stood up, tossing a couple of bucks on the table and shrugged on his coat. Just as he walked out of the cafe, he noticed the young werewolf smiled that warm smile once again. He wondered that if they were born under different circumstances, that if the young werewolf would even cast a smile towards him. But for now, just seeing that from far away and directed towards someone unfamiliar, was enough.
