SIMON

"Wait," Simon said. "So what you're telling me again is, that we were really together? Like you and me?"

Isabelle rolled her eyes at him and whipped her hair behind her shoulders with a graceful movement. It was something she found herself doing lately. As kindly as she managed she said: "Yes, Simon. That's what we've been arguing about for the past five weeks." She didn't want to sound as annoyed as she did, but Simon's constant memory lagoons made her restless and impatient. Izzy stared thoughtfully at him. His thick brown eyebrows were pressed together, forming a deep line on his brow, eyes barely squinted. He did that quite often when he was putting his mind really hard onto something. She knew he was trying to remember what they had once been, and Isabelle appreciated it, yet she couldn't help but long for the boy who had once been hers and who, even knowing her flaws, loved her deeply and fiercely. At least that was what she had interpreted, which by the Angel hope it was true. The memories hit her hard, but Izzy was ready, she always was, and with a pang of regret, forced herself to let the matter be. The boy sitting across the Café table at Java Jones, glanced at her as if she were a stranger he might have crossed one or two words with some day, but whose face was utterly familiar.

"Yes, I know." He replied, sounding slightly pained. "I just, I mean it's hard to grasp my mind around it sometimes. But tell me more", he insisted, "tell me how we met." Simon knew he was entering a territory in which he might peril. However, the urge was strong, and he needed to understand, needed to comprehend how he had come upon this girl who seemed to know everything about him and he had barely a clue of who he was. She was gorgeous, that was unfathomably true. Her eyes, despite being dark and mysterious, drowned in curiosity and an unknown warmth. He studied her carefully, not wanting to be too creepy. Not that she didn't know already, about his geeky obsession with D&D and comics. She was still hanging around him though, so it was worth a shot. He could've swore a slight darkness crossed over her face for a second, but after he blinked, it was gone like it had never existed.

Isabelle turned her head to look at Simon and inhaled deeply. "Alright, but you have to promise not to make any stupid comments until I finish, okay? And by the Angel Simon, my eyes are up here, 20cm above your current eye view landing platform."

Simon was petrified. He shook it off with a light laugh, still he blushed until his ears turned crimson and lowered his gaze to his coffee mug. Isabelle stood up harshly and went to the girl's bathroom after murmuring something about being back in 5.

She left Simon's thoughts in a tangled mess. How had he gotten into this world? Clary, Jace, Alec, Isabelle. Isabelle. Sighing, he rubbed his eyes with the back of his hands and tried to keep his posture until Izzy came back. What took girls so long? Now that was a mystery. Before he could keep wondering, something unexpected happened. His stomach made a roaring sound and he ached forward with agony. What was happening to him? Hugging his belly tighly, Simon let out a slow ragged breath and collapsed to the ground.
