Pitter, patter. Pitter, patter. The rain was falling at a steady rhythm on the floor. Drip, drop. Drip, drop. It was a free period for him; at least they had them in eighth grade. Some kids were just randomly walking about the campus with umbrellas, smiling with glee despite the rain. Their smiles were contrasting against the gray and lifeless background. He hated the rain; it got his cape all wet and soggy. All around him he could see recognizable faces, though the faces he saw lost their energy whenever they saw him. He just seemed to be someone that everyone looked down upon within this school. However, he was sitting in a spot where others would be likely to find him; he was pressed up against the lockers, holding his knees close to him and huddling, almost.
"HEY! AMPORA!" shouted a voice, and giggles followed. The boy looked up, shivering, his nose red and looking upset. It was Sollux Captor, one of the smart and popular kids in school. He was always so annoying though, and most of the time he had a bunch of other kids with him as well. Beside him was Aradia Megido, his girlfriend of six months, and behind them was Feferi Peixes.
Now, enough of referring to this boy as 'him' or 'Ampora'. What is his name, one may ask?
His name is Eridan Ampora, and he is thirteen years old, currently attending Alternia High. Usually his outfit consists of a purple cape, blue-and-black striped pants, glasses, and of course, his astrological sign, Aquarius, on his black shirt. Most often he's teased by the other kids for having no girlfriend or even a friend. Having a lot of friends was like the social status there. Eridan also speaks with a western accent and always doubles his 'w's and 'v's. Also, as he's taken from Feferi Peixes, he also speaks in fish puns occasionally.
"Wwhat do you guys ww – achoo!" He sneezed, feeling miserable and sick. The kids laughed at him and he felt horrible within.
"Shut up! Wwhat are you evven lookin' at?" Eridan glared at them, daring them to question him. They laughed hard, and then Sollux spit a few feet away from Eridan, laughing as he did so.
"You thut up," he said, and the two girls also began laughing. "You thould reconthider your whole life."
Sollux Captor had a lisp; everyone at the school seemed to have a certain quirk in their speaking. The group walked by, but Feferi lingered.
"A-A-Achoo!" Eridan sneezed again and tried to drape his cape more on his legs. However, he was unaware that Feferi was coming towards him.
