While I dislike Mako and his eyebrows, he showed some serious bravery in the finale and so, in return, he deserves some love.
"It appears Bolin has moved on," Eska observed, watching Bolin and Opal from across the dance floor. She and her brother were invited to Varrick and Zhu-Li's wedding to patch up the tensions between Varrick's company and the Northern Water Tribe caused by Unalaq's shenanigans.
Desna was being introduced to Huan, the artistic son of Suyin Beifong, by his girlfriend Kalika. And Kika was being introduced to Huan's girlfriend Cosima. The two girls seemed like they would hit it off pretty well.
That left Eska and I, the only single people here I assume, standing next to the bowl of punch. "Yeah, he's really happy now," I replied, following her gaze.
"How do you feel now that your exes have both moved on?" she asked, turning her gaze to Korra and Asami who were sitting on the steps, their backs to us.
"I'm happy for them," I told her and when she gave me a disbelieving look, I continued. "Really, I am. And I'd be lying if I didn't say that I didn't see it coming. But it's great that they know what they want."
"Do you know what you want?"
"Right now?" she nodded. "Nah. I guess I wanna focus on my career for now."
"You guess?"
"Well, yeah, I mean...Do you wanna dance?"
"Me?" she asked with wide eyes. "Are you sure?"
"Well, why wouldn't I be sure?"
"I basically forced your brother into marriage and made his life a living hell for the few weeks we were seeing each other."
"Well, when you put it that way," I laughed nervously, rubbing the back of my neck. "Are you sure you don't wanna dance?"
"I would enjoy it actually," she gave a small smile while taking my hand.
That's the best I got. Sad, right? I'm just not feeling Mako, you know? Although I do think he and Eska would be a cute couple. Like I could imagine her getting all clingy/crazy on him and then he's all assertive trying to break up with her but she snaps something at him and he does the sweatdrop/supernervous thing, you know?
Actually, to tell you the truth, I think almost anyone paired with Eska would make a cute couple…
