From the moment Natsu met her, he knew there was something special about her. Her magic is amazing, not more than his obviously, but still amazing. She's strong too, no matter what anyone says. Her kind and gentle personality intrigued him. Being raised in a crazy place like Fairy Tail and being a crazy pyromaniac himself, that obviously would happen. He just didn't see it often. Yeah, she was kind of annoying in the beginning, but she grew on him.
She's pretty too. Don't listen to the rumors, he isn't as dense as everyone thinks. Especially in "those" departments since he was raised with all those perverted geezers and Cana. Anyways, back to the matter at hand... her. What did he say again? That she's pretty, right. Lets correct that, in reality he thinks she is fucking beautiful. Her hair silky smooth, and shines more beautifully in the sun. Her eyes always filled with delight and happiness. When she smiles, dear Mavis, do her eyes shine so amazingly. Her smile too, it could light up a whole room. Those rare gentle smiles she sends him always put him at ease. Her big happy smiles make him feel like he can take on the world. He loves everything about her.
Her appearance is beautiful, yes, but her personality is what he truly fell for. She's amazing, lovable, and caring. He is lucky to have her by his side. When he thought he lost her... Mavis he doesn't know what he would've done. It hurt ten times worse then when he lost Igneel. He can't lose her again, no, anyone but her. She's too precious to him. Yes, he loves everyone at the guild, but when it comes to her, it's a different story. She's different, amazing, words can not describe her. She is everything he ever wanted and more. Natsu Dragneel is totally in love with her and nothing can change that.
There's only one problem. What is it you ask? Well, she doesn't love him back. He's upset about it, don't get him wrong, but he's not depressed. Why? Because she is still smiling. The girl he is in love with is still happy. It doesn't matter that she rejected him. As long as she is with him and breathing, it doesn't matter. He loves her and does kinda want more with her, but their friendship is more important to him. Yeah, he dreams of being something more, but those are rare moments. His friendship with her is precious. What if they do get together and then break up? Their friendship will be ruined. He can't have that, he'll rather be her best friend for the rest of their lives. He'll take that better than not having her at all. As i said, as long as she is happy, nothing else matters. He'll stay by her side, protecting her, giving her support, and making sure she is happy.
Natsu Dragneel will continue loving Lucy Heartfilia for as long as he lives.
