A Lover's Last Lullabye.

First off…..Please don't hate me for the whole non Casper/Kat pairing. I just haven't seen anything but that for so long that I wanted to try something new.

Anyways……I started thinking about the whole unfinished business thing and realized how much of a sick and twisted, yet beautifully agonizing concept it truly is. And this is what I came up with.

Good night my angel, time to close your eyes.

She was slowly fading. Not in pain but in graceful beauty. Her time had come, to soon he decided. But in reality she had lived a long life. And he was not the judge of when and where people should begin to decease. So he just watched in agony as the one he had loved for so long began to slip away.

And save these questions for another day.

She looked on to her beautiful family and asked them "Why?" But they did not hear her question. Only he. "It's just your time, Kitty. It will be ok. I am here. I am right here." But in turn she did not hear him. He was just a mere piece of light on the edge of living and dying.

I think I know what you've been asking me,

As he bent down to touch her soft gray hair he remember how he had watched her grow into the beautiful woman that she was, even in old age. As she grew older she began to develop desires far stronger than anything a small boy could fulfill so friendship remained, nothing more. As time went on this was excepted and cherished by both parties and she went looking for what she longed for in other places, in other open arms. She had once asked him if he loved anyone but himself, and like a fool he had told her no. He saw her beautiful brown eyes search his face for any trace of the lie she had hoped for, but he had become a master at hiding his feelings. So all she saw was the hardened shell he had perfected.

I think you know what I've been trying to say.

After she fled, in tears, from his uncaring gaze he wanted nothing more to run after her and show her how much he loved her, but he didn't go. He stayed behind and remained the villain, she thought him to be, until his last days on earth. But he made a vow to love her and be there for her for all eternity. She never mentioned love to him again, and so he let her go. Soon she found a husband. Perfected in everyway. Oh, how he hated him. With every fiber of his already diminishing being. The two lovers soon had a beautiful baby boy with her deep brown eyes and dark hair. And because of this he couldn't hate the child as much as he hated the father. In fact as time had past he began to love it as his own.

I promised I would never leave you and you should always know where ever you may go no matter where you are I never will be far away

So he watch the boy, just as he had watched her. Never being seen but always there. More children came and after them grandchildren. So by the time she decided to give up her life, she was surrounded by many who loved her. He watched as the doctor told her family it was time. And stood beside the boy as he kissed her good-bye. And with that kissed he felt her let go. And finally so did he.

Some day we'll all be gone but lullabies go on and on. They never die, that's how you and I will be.

Hope you liked it. I will soon post more stories, so keep the reviews coming.
