Chapter 1

Hinata ran through the woods, escaping from Orchimaru. DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! She thought worried.

"Sasuke, a little help here?" Hinata yelled over to him while running through the trees.

It was a rescue mission. Sasuke and Hinata had been sent to save Yamato, who had been captured by Orochimaru for more experimenting. They had made it to Orochimaru's hide out, but failed from there.

Whose brilliant idea was it to send SASUKE to do a rescue mission to see ORCHIMARU! Hinata thought to herself.

Sasuke started running backwards and said, "Fire ball jutsu! Wall of flames!" He blew flames from his mouth and a 20-foot wall of flames blocked Orchimaru . . . for the time being.

Hinata felt a stab in her arm. She looked and gasped as she saw a deep wound bleeding heavily across her shoulder. She pulled the kunai out of the gash on her arm. She put her hand on the wound and a green chakra started to glow around it. Good thing I learned some basic healing jutsus. Hinata thought.

Hinata waited till the bleeding slowed down a bit before stopping the jutsu. "Sasuke, have we lost them?"

"I don't think so," he said as he checked turned his head slightly to check.

"I don't think I can keep this much longer," Hinata's voice came out as a whisper.

Blackness started to take over her whole vision. No! I can't give up! She thought trying to keep herself from passing out. Sadly her tries were futile.

Sasuke realized this and caught her just in time. His running speed decreased while he held Hinata, but he kept going.

Orchimaru leaped in front of him blocking his path. Kabuto stood behind him. He was complete and utterly trapped.

Sasuke felt the adrenaline in his body seep away, as he too passed out from exhaustion with Hinata in his arms.

Hinata woke up in chains. She looked to her left and saw Sasuke in similar conditions. Her body ached with every breath. It was agonizingly hellish. She looked at her wound and sighed with relief that it was wrapped with a piece of Sasuke's shirt.

"Sasuke?"

"Yes?"

"What are we going to do?"

"…"

A tear rolled down her cheek as she realized just how helpless they were.
