"FREEZE!"
That voice. That horrible, attractively-deep voice. The owner of that voice has sent many a soldier to their grave, including most of my comrades. This man was feared greatly by all who happen to be on the recieving end of his pistol. He had single-handedly taken down the traitors of FOXHOUND and the former leader Big Boss. This man was known as Solid Snake, and I am his newest victim.
A terrible chill slid down my spine as I came to the horrific realization...that I was going to die. I could feel the barrel of his gun pressed gently against my back, just begging to blast bullets through my flesh. I clench my teeth and close my eyes. Sweat was flowing out all over my body, and my lips became dry. I felt like I was going to puke.
"Put your hands up..." Solid Snake's voice grunted. The very calm, almost bored tone in his voice made my heart nearly stop. Gently, he reached over and snatched away my gun, our fingers only touching for a moment. As he ordered for me to get down on the ground, I tried to overcome my overwhelming fear by pondering on the current choices I had to change the situation:
A) Try and Run - I would most likely be stopped by Solid Snake and shot. Even if I somehow break from his grasp, I'll still get shot while running.
B) Try and Fight Back - I would definitely get myself killed if I did this.
C) Go Along With It - I might just get knocked out, but the chances of me getting shot are still too high for me to feel relaxed.
In the end, I came to the conclusion that no matter what I did, I was screwed. So, I allowed myself to break out into uncontrollable sobs. Bile rose in my throat as I continued to cry, my body overcome with violent shaking. I didn't want to die, but there was nothing I could do. Solid Snake had captured me, and now I was going to pay for my foolishness.
"Hey...aren't you that guy back on Shadow Moses? I think I read your name in the credits...it was Johnny, right?"
I was dumbstruck. I wanted to ask him what he meant by 'I read your name in the credits', but I was still too afraid to even speak. I was also rather shocked that the legendary Solid Snake actually acknowledged a pitiful existence such as mine.
"Yeah...I recognize that stupid ski mask you always wear over your face. Anyway...here's your gun. Just go and hide in the bathroom or something while I take care of this mess, okay? You're no danger to me, anyway..."
Patting me on the head, the mysterious man known as Solid Snake ran past me and into the next hallway, where he let loose a barrage of bullets onto a pair of unsuspecting guards. My entire body still felt numb as I tried to comprehend what had just happened to me. Using the wall for support, I lifted myself back to a standing position. My mind finally clear, I knew what to do...
I quickly ran for the nearest bathroom I could find.
