It was a sunny Saturday afternoon in Adventure Bay. The kids were playing hide and seek in the park, the birds were singing, and it sounded like they were trying to over voice each other. It has been 2 years since Skye and Andrew managed to escape from the island, that trapped them for more than 5 months. Escape without a good friend, who helped them a lot in achieving everything. His name was Rocky. He was a brave, smart and joyful pup. Skye and Chase told stories about him to their pups, Sammy Arya and Max and they listened to these adventures in awe every time. The one, who admired him the most was Sammy. He had a lot in common with Rocky. First, he was really interested in building things and second, he had the mind to do so. Sometimes after bedtime, his parents spotted him reading books about mechanics and physics. Why did he read these books? The answer was simple. He was interested in everything contained the word 'building' or 'sience'
Right now Chase, Skye Marshall, and Ryder were waiting for a certain Chocolate Labrador to accept their call, that he did in a few seconds.
"Hey, guys!" He stared while smiling at the camera. "Is everything okay there?"
"Hi, Zuma!" Marshall said waving his paw "We really miss you."
"I miss you all too but don't worry, I'll visit back home in two days. How's everything going with Rubble? When last time I talked to him, he sounded really busy."
"Yeah. The upcoming tournament requires all his time right now. He said he will come home too as soon as he could."
"How's the job going with the 'Seaguards?'" Ryder asked
"Pretty good to be honest. We had two rescues with Andrew this week and saved so many people. We are doing our best."
"Yeah, we all heard it in the news. Good job!" As he said that 3 pups stormed into the room. It looked like they were racing with each other to get here.
"Why didn't you tell us you were about to call uncle Zuma?" Max complained, jumping in Ryder's arms, to see as much from the screen as possible.
"Because we knew, when you three arrive, we won't be able to talk to him." Ryder chuckled and patted Max on the head.
"Well, I can hear the little ones arrived." Zuma said with a huge smile on his face "How are you doing little fellas? You aren't annoying your parents that much, are you?"
"No." Max said and took a careful look at his father.
"Let's just say he does his best to not annoy us, he just fails every time." Chase chuckled
"A little bit of naughtiness doesn't hurt, right?" Zuma said and spotted Arya in the corner of the screen "Oh here is my little princess. Look at you, you are beautiful, sweetheart. The boys must be racing to get to you."
"Zuma!" Chase shook his head "She is only 14 months old."
"So? How old you were when you started to like Skye? 9, maybe 10 months?"
"It was a completely different story."
"Skye, how old you were?"
"16 months when I started to look at him more than a friend." She gave a slight smile to Chase.
"If you feel like it, You can talk to me anytime about your crushes," Zuma whispered and winked at Arya
"I think I will call you back." Arya whispered back.
"Wait what!?" Chase snapped out, making everyone laugh around him.
"Okay, let's change the subject." Zuma said holding back a huge grin "Is Sammy here?"
"Yes. I am." The mentioned pup jumped up to a chair, so everyone could see him.
"How's the best inventor doing? Are you working on something right now?"
"Well, yes...but...it's a secret."
"Wow. A surprise? Can I see it?"
"Of course! But only after I finished it."
"Only after you finished. Got it! I can feel it's going to be awesome."
Ryder's phone started to ring. It was Alex. He and his mini patrol took every problem in town, and he asked Ryder's help only a few times on harder missions. This is why Ryder picked up his call really quickly.
"Ryder here, what's up Alex?"
"Hey, Ryder I'd borrow Chase for a mission if you don't mind. I could use his spy skills right now"
"Sure thing. Chase?"
"Spy Chase is on the case." He said and ran to get his gear as soon as possible.
"Didn't I already tell you to get a good spy to your group?"
"Do you know how hard it is to get a well-trained spy right now? I have a lot of applicants but nobody fits the requirements."
"Can I apply too?" Max asked in excitement.
"For a spy or a troublemaker? You are pretty good in one of those." Chase appeared behind the pup, fully geared up.
"I can learn! If you let me go with you...
"You are grounded if I'm not mistaken. Plus Alex only calls us on missions, that's more dangerous, so my answer is a clear no."
"Please! I will be a good pup!"
"If it was the first time you ignored our 'don't go there' and 'stay home' requests, maybe I'd let you come with me. But it wasn't, so we will talk about this later when your detention ends"
He sighs. "Okay, fine"
"Be safe okay?" Skye said and gave a kiss
"I will try to. Ryder, let's go!"
"Okay, I will hang up the call. " Zuma said "I have a few work to do. see you in a few days."
The rest of the group watched as Chase and Ryder left the lookout in their vehicles. Max was a bit disappointed he couldn't go but he found activity anyway. Sammy asked if he wanted to see his work, and he said why not. Max wasn't that good at making things, but he always liked to see them in work. Plus he really liked his brother. Any time he needed help, he was there, and vise versa
"So what is this exactly?" Max asked going down to the basement.
"You will see. I found it 1 month ago abandoned, and half finished. Maybe Rocky worked on it but he left it. Ryder didn't know what it was, and he just put it in here"
"Why? You knew it at the first look?"
"Of course not! But then I found some workplans, and it all cleared out."
"Tell me what this is already. I'm excited!"
"Okay, okay. So. Here we go. This is the first time machine ever made. Okay, It's not a time machine, since you can't actually go back, but you still can change the past."
"Woah! Cool!" Max was really amazed. His brother always found a way to surprise him, but it was the best so far.
"I haven't actually tried this out yet, but I'm really excited to do so."
"How did you found all the parts here?"
"I didn't. I had to order some from the Nasa."
"You…. WHAT? And they gave you everything without asking any questions?"
"Well... I ordered the parts in Ryder's name, and they respect the Paw patrol. Ryder helped them a few times."
"Those parts still weren't cheap, were they?"
"Ummm... Let's just say, Tachyon particle detectors can't be found in every shop…"
"Ticha What?"
"Tachyon particles. They are particles that can travel faster than light, therefore able to travel through time. If everything is correct we can send back our thoughts to somebody, when they are sleeping."
"You will be in a big trouble when Ryder finds out what you did, you know that, right?"
"Says the one, who is in detention. I think he will forgive me after saving his friend. At least I hope so."
"Hey, pups. What are you doing down here?"
"Waaah… hey, uncle Marshall... we... Ummm"
"Are you okay?"
"Yes. Yes… We were just... Playing."
"Down here? Why don't you go up to play? It's a good day out there."
"Because we were playing hide and seek" Max helps his brother out. "Sammy found this awesome place to hide. Hah. But I found you. Your turn to seek."
Marshall gave one more suspicious look and then accepted it. "Oh, okay. Do you want me to join?"
"No than…" Sammy started, but Max covered his mouth
"Yes, please. It's more fun when it's three of us."
"Okay, I'll go seeking." Marshall offered but Max declined right away
"No no. It's Sammy's turn. He always wants to hide but sorry, you need to be the seeker sometimes."
Sammy realized what Max was trying to do, so he choosed to play along. "Okay fine. But you can't hide away from me. I'll find you anywhere"
"You think?" Marshall asked back "I have a place, where no one has ever found me jet."
"I accept the challenge."
"Don't peak!"
"I don't need to cheat to find you. I'll start now… 1...2...3…" As he started to count, both Marshall and Max ran towards the exit, but as soon as Marshall disappeared, Max walked back with a huge grin.
"Nice acting" Sammy gave a high four to his brother. "Thanks for the help by the way. I thought he will find out everything."
"Don't be afraid until you see me. Now we have 15 minutes until he realizes you aren't playing."
"Yeah. I'm actually pretty interested in his ultimate hiding place.."
"Well… You can go play, or... we could try out this awesome machine"
"Okay... So I don't know how dangerous this is… Umm...Maybe we should start with a smaller time travel."
"Can you send me a message about Something? I want to know how it feels to know the future."
"Hmmm...Maybe I should send you, Marshall is going to find us. Let's see what's going to happen"
As he booted up the machine the lights started to light up one by one.

"Huh...Okay, let's do this. I'm a bit nervous, to be honest."
"Hey. I know everything is going to be fine. Let's test this thing."
Sammy set the date to the previous night, pointed Max's pup house as a receiver location, lay down, and put his head in the machine. Two beeps can be heard, and everything turned black. For a split second, he felt like he was flying through a tunnel. It was weird since he wasn't actually traveling. In a few seconds, he arrived to a dark place, filled with void, so he could barely see anything
Is that your head or my head, Max? Sammy thought to himself and chuckled. In a few seconds, he saw his Brother standing in front of him.
"Ummm. Hey Max"
"Sammy? How... Where are we? Am I dreaming?"
"Most likely…" Sammy couldn't help but smile. This machine actually worked "Okay, where to start… So I'm from the future...No that doesn't sound right… Whatever. So tomorrow, I'm going to show you a time machine, that I finished. Oh... yeah, how to prove myself? Ummm.. So… Ryder is going to call Uncle Zuma. Somewhere around 15:10, maybe? Alex will call dad to help him on a mission, then I'm going to show you this machine, and Marshall finds us, but you distract him. Will you remember this?"
"I guess… I'm kind of confused right now…"
"You will figure out everything in time. Have a nice dream."
As he said that, the tunnel started to close, and felt like flying again. A huge wave hit him, and his head started to hurt. Suddenly he started to remember things, that didn't happen that day before. A memory appeared about Max asking him about his machines, running to Ryder, even before he called Zuma, Max told him to hide right before Marshall appeared. All of these appeared in his mind at the same time. He opened his eyes and spotted Max smiling at him.
"So 'You are from the future'?"
"It….Worked?"
"No, I just randomly guessed things...of course it worked!"
"How did you remember all the things?"
"At first when I woke up, it felt like a dream but it was brighter than the others, so It was weird at the start but after you showed this machine, everything cleared up."
"Can you remember the day without the changes?"
"Not really… You do?"
"Yes, but that was expectable."
"You seemed surprised when I told you, I know about your time machine."
"That wasn't me...I mean… That was me but... huh... time travel is weird…" He suddenly connects the things "Wait… That wave… That was a time wave. The time adjusted itself to the changements."
"What time wave? I didn't feel anything"
"Because only the message sender can feel it. It all adds up. I needed to have memories from this timeline, so I got them. For me, the changes happened in a few seconds."
"Okay, you are a bit strange right now… What the heck are you talking about?"
"I have memories from both timelines, you don't. That's it."
"Ooookayyy… So… will we save Uncle Rocky?"
"You bet we will. You probably won't remember this but I'll tell you everything, don't worry."
"Thanks, bro. You are the best brother."
Sammy set the date and the sending place again, and before he put his head into the machine, he turned to Max once more.
"See you in a better time." Two beeps can be heard and the blackness came again.
