Hikari Yagami had always been somewhat of a religious person.

While she didn't go to church every Sunday like most religious people did, she prayed every night for the Lord to keep her friends and family safe, happy, and healthy.

She also thought about everything she did and said to others. Most of the time she was very careful, because she felt that God was watching her the whole time and would punish her if she did not act appropriately or nicely to others. She watched her sins, and when she was feeling particularly religious, she would record how many she made in a week, and then would ask that many times for forgiveness.

It wasn't until she actually thought about how she prayed that she began to question who she was really praying to. Now, this may seem strange. Wasn't she praying to God obviously?

Well, she thought she was too, and she always used the term "Lord" in her prayers to refer to God. But lately she began to notice a pattern. Every time she would make the cross after praying, the next day, something bad would happen.

For example; there was a time when Tai had come down with a very bad cold. She had prayed that night for him to get better and made the cross against her body to end the prayer.

The next day, Tai's cold got worse and he had to be taken to the hospital. That same night, Hikari prayed again, but this time did not make the cross after and the next day, her brother was feeling well enough that he could come back home.

Of course, it could have just been a coincidence. She didn't remember all the times she made the cross and what happened the next day. Maybe she had just a few unlucky days.

But Hikari Yagami, being the thoughtful person she was, began to wonder if it was God who was always answering her prayers. She believed that if you made the cross in the devil's presence he would cringe and then get angry and try to do harm to your loved ones.

This alone made her wonder if maybe, just maybe, some nights it was the devil who was answering her prayers.

How could this be possible though? Kari after all, was the light for many people. She brought them happiness, was a joy to be around, and was always willing to help others.

She was sweet, innocent, and caring. That doesn't exactly sound like someone who would be praying to the devil or have the devil answer her prayers.

She was a good Christian girl, and good Christian girls, always stay away from the devil.

Then why, when she made the cross some nights, did she feel like she could almost see the devil cringing, bringing ill-fate upon her and those she loved?

She wasn't sure but she knew that that was how she felt. Suddenly, she yawned. Looking over at her clock she read the time: 11:30 PM. So that's why she was yawning.

Yes, Hikari Yagmai felt this way often but who's to know for certain?

"Good Night Gatomon" she said, before falling into a deep sleep.
