After another day of countless searching, The Doctor head to his Tardis.
He sighed. He was tired. Tired of the new faces. Tired of searching. Tired. Just Tired.
Nothing was the same without her.
After some work on the console, The Doctor decided to head to bed.
He lay there, trying to find just the tiniest twinkle of sleep, when he heard a crashing sound in the Console.
The Doctor jumped out of bed and ran to the heart of his Tardis.
He entered the room, and when he saw what caused the noise.
...
"Doctor."
.
"Clara."
They ran towards each other and locked in a tight embrace.
If only it could stay like this forever. he thought.
After a few minutes they separated.
They both sat down and Clara began telling the Doctor about her adventures in her own Tardis.
Then he remembered.
She wasn't alive.
The doctor turned to look at her.
"Clara. How are you here?"
Clara sighed and walked towards him.
She took his hand and placed two fingers on her wrist.
"No pulse." he grimly said.
He checked her neck, to no avail.
No Pulse. Clara Oswald was indeed dead.
A single tear ran down The Doctor's face.
"Clara I-"
She cut him off.
"Shh. It will be alright."
After a single moment of silence, Clara grabbed the collar of the Doctor's shirt, and pulled him down.
Before he could protest, their lips met.
The Doctor's eyes widened in surprise, but he slowly kissed back.
They pulled apart after a moment, and Clara whispered in his ear.
"Goodbye, Doctor."
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Suddenly he woke up, heart racing. The Doctor ran to the console room, to find no Clara.
Just as he was about to turn back, he noticed a chalkboard with writing.
He read it. And for the first time in what felt like forever, the Doctor genuinely smiled.
Run you clever boy...
...And be a Doctor.
The end.
