Smile

Runaway Smile

He is taking notes. He usually does that in class. He looks so ... I don't know, sad or maybe just exhausted.
But he is smiling. It's his way of showing people he's okay, even though he's not. I can see it in his eyes, his beautiful golden eyes. He's been like this for weeks. Always smiling to hide away his feelings. I've been watching him and all I can tell is that there is something wrong, but he keeps smiling. I ask him if he's okay or if there's something wrong. His mouth says no but his eyes say something else.

At night I can hear him sob and all I want to do is console and comfort him, but I can't. What can I do to make him happy? I'm the disowned Black. I tried once, it just makes it even worse. And the day after he didn't speak to me, it was 's one thing I am going to do and that is to figure out what's wrong with him. He's too far away. He's shut himself away from the world. It's like he's not there even though he is. With his beautiful golden eyes, his golden-like hair and of course his smile. His runaway smile.

The bell rings. I watch him as he stands up quickly and run out of the classroom with his books clutched tightly in his hands. I run after him. At the end of the hallway I see him. He's running towards the clocktower and of course I run after.

He doesn't stop until he reaches a tree by the water. I don't think he's noticed me. I walk towards him. I stand behinde the tree for a while thinking of what I'm going to say. "Sirius, I know you're there," he says after awhile. I had totally forgot about the werewolf thing. I sit down next to him."I know you're tired of this question, but I really need to know. Remus, what's wrong?" I look at him, his eye are fixed out on the water, He's thinking. He doesn't want to say the wrong thing.

"It's like I always say, there's nothing wrong with me," he says. He looks at me for the first time. There is something different about his eyes. It looks like he's been crying. "Please, just leave," his voise is small and weak. I reach for him, but he just moves away. "Don't touch me," he looks angry. All I want to do is hold him, show him that I care about him. "Stop it, Sirius," he stands up and is about to walk away. I stand up too. No way he's going to leave me. He turns around. "Don't you dare follow me, I don't need you. Nobody needs you, you selfish bastard." And then he walks away. And this time he's not even smiling.

The End
