The Key To What She Wants
Lois Lane was nervously pacing in the loft of the Kent barn. It's not like she's never set him straight before. In fact, most the first years that she knew him she spent setting him straight. The Prince of Plaid was a really messed up teenager, moving through life one brood at a time.
But this was different…
After years of knowing each other, after working together at the Daily Planet for the last eleven months, after a heated argument - that had lasted all day… She had found herself grabbing him and attacking his mouth with hers in a kiss that had scared her with its intensity. When she moved to break the kiss, she had found that he wouldn't let her, and she didn't want him to.
But this was different…
Having dated just seven weeks, she was scared. She hadn't run him off. The General had intimidated him, but hadn't run him off. Lucy coming on to him like a… little flirt, hadn't run him off. And she liked it.
But this was different…
When they had been dating for ten weeks, he had taken her to his place up north. At first she had been scared; then terrified when every moment of the strangeness, that was Clark Kent, had suddenly made sense. And she felt shame.
All of the clues, all of his quirks, all of the rescues... Never had she suspected that Clark was the Man of Steel. Each interview had seemed like a completely different person; even his facial features seemed different.
It had taken her a few minutes to come to terms with his true identity. His hopeful eyes had followed her as she paced around the crystal control room, before seeking comfort in his arms.
With one question she changed their relationship; 'Why me?'
His answer was full of love and showed her that he had thought a great deal about her, and their relationship. Never had she heard an expression of love so completely honest. Figuratively, he had handed her a Kryptonite knife and bared his chest for her to plunge it in. That moment, what she felt for him solidified.
But this was different…
They didn't have to be back at the Planet until Wednesday. She had arranged for them to have an extended weekend, by promising their Editor In Chief, Perry White, three articles about Senator Kent. Her recent election into the Senate had followed her completion of the unexpired term she had been appointed to. The people of Kansas had spoken loud and clear in a landslide win that had national pundits talking.
A little planning and plotting with his mother had guaranteed a couple of uninterrupted days alone on the Kent Farm. Technically, she had written the articles before the weekend had even started, thanks to email and a phone interview she had all her bases covered and would send the stories in at an appropriate time.
She had the time she wanted.
But this was different…
There were still conversations that he was uncomfortable with. The quiet, shy Farm Boy may wear a different suit, but the Farm Boy was still in there.
There was a soft sound coming from below, and she heard him climbing the stairs.
'It's now or never.' She reminded herself as he came into view.
She stood there as he walked up to her and kissed her, placing his hands on her waist.
Placing her hands on his forearms, she pushed down and broke the kiss.
"You know, it's OK if you grab my ass."

A/N: You may have guessed, the story and especially that last line was inspired by Lois' line from last night's season seven episode one.
