He was sneaking down the stairs, trying his best so that his footsteps went unheard.

She was stifling her laughter, with her fist, in the other darkened room.

He didn't realize someone else was awake in the house.

The couple had been married for only a few months, in July, to be exact, but they felt like they had been married for ages.

They, however, loved surprises.

So she was going to startle him.

He was trying to surprise her, but his plan had been uncovered early that day.

So the man kept tiptoeing towards the lighted evergreen, placed in the middle of the living room. He dodged the many sofas and tables that had been wedding gifts from their friends.

He lifted the small red box from his pocket, and hid it in the branches of the tree.

She let out a giggle.

He turned, alarmed, but shook of the feeling, and slowly crept back to his bed.

She, being who she was, grinned.

Glancing towards the stairs, she saw the faint light of their shared bedroom turn off.

He, being who he was, thought she was in the bathroom or something along those lines.

She slithered towards the enlighten plant, glimpsing towards the stairs every so often.

When she reached the tree, she immediately spotted the silver ribbon lining the small box.

She glanced once more towards the bedroom, and satisfied that her husband wasn't awake, she opened it.

And she had to fully cover her mouth in order to suppress the scream of joy she wanted to let out.

She soaked in the sentimental value of the gift.

She was surprised that he would have remembered.

She was amazed that he took the trouble to find it.

It was a pendant.

The object was hanging on a thin gold chain that she estimated was very expensive.

It was a miniature version of her old blue helmet, the one she wore to the Digital World.

She wanted to cry tears of glee.

She wanted to run up and scream in his ear how much she loved it.

Instead, she snuck back into her bed, and, lying down next to him, whispered into his ear.

"I love you, Taichi."

When she lay her head down on her pillow, before she could close her eyes, she felt his arm wrap around her, and his lips move to her ears.

"I love you too, Sora."

She grinned, and lay in his arms, happy and content.
