Collins stood staring at the white hospital door. Okay. Go in on 1.2.3. He made a move for the door, but still couldn't twist the handle to his greatest fear for the 10 months. He knew he couldn't face her.

"Collins? Are you out there?" He heard a slightly familiar voice say. He knew it was Angel, but her usual strong though delicate voice, was now raspy and strained.

She knows you're out here. Go in. Now.

Collins finally got the courage and opened the door. "Yeah, Ang, I'm right here." He said slowly entering. Now, looking at Angel, his heart immediately fell. There was no sign of his usual attire. Just Angel. He even is beautiful at his worst. Angel smiled at him as he came over to hold her hand. His smile slowly descended from his face when he saw Collin's expression.

"What's wrong, baby?" He asked demurely.

"I. . .It's just. . .I feel so, so awful, and ashamed of, not being able to be with you. Right now, I can barely keep myself from sprinting out of this room. I, I'm so sorry, Angel." He admitted after a bit of silence. God. That was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I thought opening that door was bad . . .

Angel stayed silent, looking into his eyes, almost enough kill him right that instant. Collins looked so pained, so worried, and most of all filled to the rim with fear. "Baby, don't worry, you're here now. That's all that matters." Angel said softly, looking directly into his eyes.

"I know, Ang. I know. I just can't stop the feeling. I don't know if I can. . ."Collins started.

"Hush. Please, Collins. Don't be scared. There's no need to be." Angel said, looking down at her hands now.

How can she say that? She's so close to . . . And yet, she still can be fearless.

"I love you" Collins said softy.

"I love you too." If only I was as fearless as he believes I am . . .
