The night wasn't over.
She distantly remembers her birthday having three more hours left to go before it was officially done.
She would give anything, anything, for it to be yesterday; to erase the terrible moments of the evening.
She sinks against the couch in a catatonic state, her mind lost in the memories leading up to the battle against Angelus.
Or rather, Angel.
The man she loved. Now her sworn enemy.
She doesn't pay any attention as the TV continues to fill the living room with the adaptation of 'Goodnight, My Love.' The lyrics, however, causes a shiver to course through her body; how fitting it was to her current situation.
Because tonight, unknowingly, she did had to say goodnight.
Goodnight, to the part of the vampire that was Angel.
Perhaps, to her broken heart, forever.
Author's Notes: After months of inactivity, I decided to write a drabble to get back in the swing of things. I'm planning on writing more based on a few scenes from the show. Enjoy!
