What if Elijah knew it was Elena when he kissed her? What if he knew it wasn't Katherine?

I watched as Elena walked to the gazebo. I knew it was Elena and not Katherine. I knew Katherine too well and for too long to fall for her trick. I walked behind her and smiled. She had red in her hair. It looked good on her. "Katherine" I called. She turned and I smiled as I walked closer. "Elijah" she said. I could hear the shock in her voice. I knew then she wasn't sure who the meeting was supposed to be with. "You're a little late, don't you think?" I grinned because she had nailed the slight annoyed tone Katherine always had in her voice. She was good, I had to admit. "You dyed your hair" I say as I come closer.

I brush her hair behind her ear "Thank you I was actually gonna" I kissed her and cut her off. The small gasp out of shock made me kiss her deeper. She made a small "Mmm" sound as we kissed. I wish I had done it earlier. I adored her little small noises as I continued to kiss her. I could have continued and she wouldn't have stopped it because she was pretending to be Katherine. That was the thought that made me pull away. She was smiling and was visibly distracted by the kiss I had given her. At least I had some sort of effect on her. She locked eyes with me and I could see her smile growing as she studied my face "You know it's me don't you?" I grin "Perceptive are we? So where is Katherine, Elena?" She shakes her head "You kissed me even though you knew who I was?" I laugh softly "Doesn't everyone want to kiss you?" She gave me a slight shove and I chuckle lightly at her.
