Scorpius paced back and forth, as he waited for his party to begin. He was nervous and it showed clearly across his pale face. He had only recently celebrated his 17th birthday, which was adulthood in the wizarding world. Tonight's initiation was far more important than even that event had been.
Tonight was his initiation into a legacy. A legacy that spanned several generations of the Malfoy family. He would soon bear the mark that would set him apart from his peers. He puffed up with pride at the mere thought. His entire upbringing had readied him for this very moment. The moment he would finally become one of them.
Lord Voldemort's reign had ended in a most horrific battle or so the legend had been told. Scorpius had been raised on stories about his valiant efforts to free them all of the unworthy. His grandfather had spent years in Azkaban suffering for their cause. The Dark Lord was no more but his ideals lived on in those who truly believed. The Malfoys were an entire family of believers determined to bring about a pureblood reign of supremacy. They were putting all their hopes in the hands of the next generation.
Scorpius felt a slight sting of pain move over his forearm as his grandfather recited the age-old incantation. The words were somber yet filled Scorpius up with glee as he watched the mark appear. The Dark Mark arose, inky black and menacing. It inspired fear within the small crowd of onlookers. Scorpius looked up at his father and he saw the look of pride upon Draco's face. Draco stood up and lifted his glass in a celebratory toast.
"To my son, Scorpius… Finally, he has joined the ranks of the many proud Malfoy men in their quest to rid the world of those unworthy of our magic! Today I am the proudest of all fathers!"
He smiled broadly at his son before drinking his glass of champagne. With that toast, Scorpius was now a bonafide member of the newly formed Death Eaters Rebirth Society. Together they would fight to rid the world of muggleborn filth and bring about a healthy pureblood wizarding society…
