Pillow Talk
"Wow," Tony sighs heavily, a light layer of sweat still coating his body and Pepper nestled into his side, he finds himself feeling oddly content. Pressed up against him overwhelming disgust doesn't flood through as she drapes her arm across his chest; he doesn't feel the need to de-tangle himself from her but instead a desire to pull her closer. "That was amazing… you were amazing." His expression slips from pure bliss to one of bafflement when Pepper begins to laugh. "What?"
Sitting up, Pepper smirks, her tussled hair spilling across his chest as she leans over. "I'm not stroking your ego," she informs him, pressing her lips to his.
Pulling back, Tony fights to stay focused as her sheet pools around her hips. "I'm serious."
Pepper snorts and rolls her eyes, "Really?" she questions, still convinced he's fishing for complements. "You've done just about everything with everyone. You're the guy that's slept with Playboy Bunnies, models, and heiresses. Not to mention all the waitresses, coworkers and fangirls. You've had threesomes and foursomes, and you really expect me to believe I've topped it all?"
"Uh…yeah."
"I'm the best?" she asks with a sight smirk, still in disbelief, grin slipping when his gaze drops to his lap.
"I feel better." He admits in confusion while she's left feeling like a jerk.
"Oh, Tony." Pepper grimaces lifting his head before smiling fondly. "That's called a relationship." She tells him lovingly, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
"No," Tony shakes his head in disagreement. "I—I—" he stops, floundering for the right word, clearly flustered.
"I know," Pepper interrupts after a moment, taking pity on him. "You've really never felt like this?" She asks, trying to wrap her head around the idea. While she knows his qualifications for one-night stands were nothing more than good looks and a willingness to jump straight into bed, she had to figure there was a least one girl who had, had a larger impact on him. Tony simply shakes his head in response, prompting her to push again. "What about when you lost your virginity?"
Tony's nose actually curls slightly in disgust, and he has her full attention even when he gives a response that should have her rolling her at first. "It was my 15th birthday party, my parents decided to stay in town so no one showed up-couldn't drink." He elaborates when Pepper cocks her head in confusion. "So I got shit-faced drunk and called up a girl," he states in a rather obvious fashion. "I don't remember much after that."
Knowing she can't hide the pity from her face, she settles for all she can do. Leaning in for a kiss she holds him tight, then offers what support she can. "I would have come," she tells him lovingly.
Tony snorts and shakes his head with a small laugh in response "No, you wouldn't have."
She really doesn't have a response, knowing that his social skills are sorely lacking and in all likelihood had they met when younger they never would have been friends. Rough around the edges he can't talk about nonsense things and everyday topics, a victim of his own mind in some ways. Over the years he's learned to compensate by being brash, speaking about things others can't possibly keep up with, crushing them with his intelligence, and power. Tony was an acquired taste.
"I'll come to all your others," she promises.
"Good," Tony smiles slightly in response, pulling her closer. With his mouth only inches away from hers, his declaration falls on nothing more than a whisper before his lips find hers. "Because you're the only one invited."
