Note: Naruto is an anime that was done by the studio Pierrot and is based on a manga by Masashi Kishimoto.
Hinata Hyuga had been the shyest person that Naruto Uzumaki had ever met. However, that shyness was about to be put on hold, because Hinata had a daring plan. She was planning on asking Naruto out. She had never asked out a guy before, because she was shy and cowardly. She often let her fear delay and stop her plans. However, Hinata had finally found something that was worth taking a risk over. Both her brain and her heart knew she couldn't pass up the chance, to ask Naruto out. She was still afraid. After all, she knew that Naruto might say no. However, she was excited, while hoping that Naruto would say yes.
Hinata had often thought about when and how, she'd ask Naruto out. She had lots of ideas in her head, including at either a fancy location or on a special holiday. However, Hinata had put-off asking Naruto for too long. Instead of delaying it, Hinata was planning on asking out Naruto the next time she saw him.
One morning, Hinata decided to go for a run. She got on her running shirt and shorts and started running outside. Due to her gentle and caring nature, she made sure to run at a somewhat fast, but not extreme pace. She also made sure, to watch out for anybody walking or running by. She looked at the skies and could see a bit of the sun, but most of it was covered by the clouds. The wind was rising, which was a pleasant feeling. She smiled, while looking more calm than usual.
Naruto was also going for a run, while wearing his usual, orange costume. He was running in a far faster and more reckless way, than Hinata was. He wasn't exactly mature, so he chaotically ran around, while saying, "Fast is another word for fun!" Naruto ran into several things, including people, lampposts, mailboxes, and garbage cans. Several people were annoyed his clumsy behavior. Some shook their fists and said bad words, but Naruto didn't seem to notice that.
While running, Naruto was running by Hinata. Hinata saw how fast he was running and she was a little scared. She tried to get out of the way, but Naruto was running too fast. Naruto accidentally bumped into Hinata. She fell on a field of grass. Naruto felt ashamed of himself, for not being more careful. He looked at her and said, "I'm really sorry."
Hinata wasn't used to being mad at Naruto, but this time, she was a little annoyed. She said, "Your running is impressively fast, but your carefulness needs improvement."
Naruto couldn't argue with that, so he replied, "That's true. I'll help you get up." He stuck his hand out and said, "Grab my hand."
Hinata lightly blushed, while responding, "Okay then." She grabbed Naruto's hand. Naruto gently helped Hinata stand up.
Naruto asked, "Are you going to be okay?"
Hinata answered, "I think so."
Naruto asked, "Is there anything I can do, to make it up to you?"
Hinata paused and thought this was her chance to ask him out. She nervously gulped, before going through with it. She asked, "Will you take me on a date?"
Naruto answered, "Sure."
Hinata smiled and said, "Wonderful."
Naruto suddenly realized what Hinata had asked him. He looked a little nervous, while asking, "Did you ask me on a date?" Hinata nodded. He said, "So, a romantic date?"
Hinata shyly answered, "Yes."
Naruto said, "That would be our first date."
Hinata replied, "I've never asked out a guy, before I asked you."
Naruto responded, "I've asked dozens of girls, but I appreciate the sentiment."
Hinata asked, "Where do you want to go?"
Even though Naruto was used to asking out girls, he wasn't used to them agreeing to go. Because of that, he wasn't great at preparing dates. He said, "I'll call you, after I have everything figured out."
Hinata replied, "Sounds good." She paused and said, "Naruto, I really like you."
Naruto barely thought about what he was doing, while saying, "I really like myself too." He facepalmed, while feeling like an idiot. He said, "I meant to say, I really like you too. Instead, I gave myself a corny self-compliment."
Hinata replied, "No problem, Naruto. Believe me, I've said plenty of silly things."
Naruto responded, "I'll see you later, Hinata. I love you." He paused, while blushing. He stubbornly said, "I didn't mean to say that. That's not how I feel."
Hinata shook her head and replied, "I know it's how you feel and I love you too." She kissed his cheek and walked away, while blushing.
A few minutes later, Naruto decided to visit Sasuke Uchiha's house. He was hoping that Sasuke could give him advice, about how to give Hinata a good date. Sasuke and his girlfriend, Sakura Haruno, were hanging out in the living room. Naruto barged in and said, "Hi bro."
Sasuke smiled and replied, "I missed you, dude." The two friends high-fived each other and started dancing around the living room.
Sakura had an amused look on her face, while asking, "Naruto, did you interrupt me and Sasuke's date, so you could dance with your buddy?"
Naruto laughed and answered, "More or less." Sakura facepalmed. Naruto shook his arms in the air, while saying, "I was kidding, Sakura. I really need Sasuke's help and advice."
Sasuke asked, "What's going on?"
Naruto shyly said, "I love Hinata."
Sakura replied, "Oh, that's actually great news."
Sasuke said, "I'm sure you'll be a nice couple."
Naruto nervously replied, "But I'm not great at dates. Most of the girls, that I've asked, rejected me. The few girls that agreed to go out me, ended up throwing me away, making me feel like garbage. I don't know where I should take Hinata or what I should do."
Sakura said, "You should take Hinata to a nice restaurant."
Sasuke replied, "I respectfully disagree. That wouldn't be a good use of money. Naruto can make a homecooked meal and he and Hinata can have dinner, at his house."
Naruto got a corny sense of excitement, because of his greed, so he said, "Not a bad idea. What should I make?"
Sasuke signaled for Naruto to follow him, while replying, "We'll make a pizza in my kitchen and you can take it to your house."
Naruto responded, "Excellent idea, old friend."
Sakura was used to Naruto and Sasuke's klutzy cooking skills, so she said, "You boys better act carefully and maturely, while in the kitchen."
Naruto replied, "Okay."
Naruto and Sasuke started prancing around the kitchen. Sasuke looked at his friend, while saying, "I'll get the pizza ready and put it in the oven. You can take care of the rest."
Naruto replied, "Sounds fair enough."
After Sasuke prepared the pizza, Naruto noticed there was no pepperoni on it. He said, "Dude, it needs pepperoni."
Sasuke replied, "I'm sorry, but a neighbor came, who asked for a cup of pepperoni."
Naruto said, "I'll have to put something else on it."
Sasuke replied, "Use whatever you want."
Naruto responded, "Okay then." He opened up the fridge and grabbed some ingredients. He put ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and cookies on the pizza.
Sasuke replied, "Good choices." He put the gross pizza into the oven and said, "Set it to any temperature, that you think is necessary."
Naruto said, "Okay." He wasn't a fountain of knowledge, so he set it to seventy degrees.
The guys returned to the living room. Sakura looked at them and asked, "Did you stay out of trouble?"
Naruto answered, "Of course we did."
Sasuke said, "Naruto prepared a fantastic pizza."
Sakura folded her arms and said, "Naruto, did you put anything silly on the pizza?"
Naruto nervously chuckled and replied, "Yes I did."
Sakura responded, "Naruto, if you truly love Hinata, you need to show that. If you think she's the best of the best, you need to give her the best possible stuff."
Naruto thought about it and said, "I'll work on that."
A few minutes later, the disgusting pizza was done cooking. Naruto took it out of the oven and looked at it. His bad ingredient choices got mixed together and because of that, the pizza looked more repulsive than he thought it would. He said, "This looks like crap." He threw the pizza at the kitchen floor. Sasuke took the pizza off of the floor and hid it in the fridge.
Naruto returned to the living room and said, "Sakura was right. Hinata deserves a real meal, not a crappily-made pizza. I'm going to take her to a restaurant."
Sakura replied, "Good choice, Naruto. It seems like your maturity is rising, like the wind."
Sasuke said, "I hope you and Hinata have a good date."
Naruto had a hopeful smile on his face, while replying, "I think it will be."
Several minutes later, Hinata was getting ready for her date. She wondered how she should dress: Casual or fancy. Since going on a date with Naruto was something she's been hyped for, she decided to dress fancy. She got on a fancy, blue dress.
Naruto knocked on her house door. Hinata opened it, while wearing the dress. Naruto felt ashamed to still be wearing his usual outfit, so he said, "I better run home and get new clothes."
Hinata gently stopped Naruto from running away, while saying, "Naruto, I've waited and waited for this special day. I don't want any more delays. The superficial details aren't what matters. What matters is that I finally get to go on a date with you."
Naruto replied, "I'm honored to go on this date."
Hinata gently held hands with Naruto, while responding, "Then let's go."
Naruto replied, "There's a fancy restaurant, a few blocks away. Let's go there."
Hinata responded, "Sounds good." She and Naruto smiled and blushed at each other, several times, while walking to the restaurant.
After walking in and sitting down, Naruto looked at Hinata and said, "You look beautiful in that dress."
Hinata replied, "So do you." She facepalmed over her embarrassing mistake and said, "I can't believe I said that. You're not wearing dress and you're handsome, not beautiful."
Naruto tried to make Hinata feel by saying, "You may of said that wrong, but your sentiment is appreciated and thoughtful."
The waiter walked by and asked, "What do you want to drink?"
Hinata said, "A glass of milk."
Naruto said, "Whatever soda tastes the best." The waiter nodded and started getting the drinks ready.
Hinata said, "Naruto, I've been wanting to ask you out for months, maybe a few years."
Naruto looked surprised, while asking, "Really? How come you didn't ask me out, all those months ago?"
Hinata looked away, while saying, "I was shy and I was worried you wouldn't want to date me."
Naruto asked, "Why wouldn't I want to date you? You're amazing."
Hinata had an intrigued look on her face, while saying, "Oh really?"
Naruto went into further detail, while explaining, "At first, I just thought you were a nice friend. However, I realized that you were my sweetest and most adorable ally. You made my heart shine with new and passionate feelings of happiness."
Hinata was starting to realize that her feelings for him and his feelings for her, were very similar and romantic. She said, "Naruto, we really each other, don't we?"
Naruto replied, "At the risk of sounding bold, I believe we do."
Hinata said, "Our feelings for each other are clear and because of that, this first date is wonderful. I'm very thankful, that you took me on this date."
Naruto replied, "Hold on, Hinata. The date just started."
Hinata smiled and responded, "That may be the case, but it's already been a success."
Naruto replied, "I think you're right."
The waiter returned and asked, "What do you want to eat?"
Naruto asked, "Do you have any good food?"
The waiter answered, "Not really."
Naruto sighed and said, "We'll just have today's special."
The waiter replied, "Decent choice." He started heading to the kitchen.
Hinata held Naruto's hand, while saying, "While on a date, the meal isn't what matters. What matters is the love and I think we're full of that."
Naruto smiled and replied, "Indeed we are." Naruto and Hinata kissed each other. They regretted waiting so long for their first date and because of that, they were planning on having several dates in the next few months.
