Author's Note: I do not own Naruto.

All of his friends were worried. Naruto had been gone for an entire week, with no sign of him anywhere. Kiba and Akamaru did all they could with their sniffing, but still no trace of Naruto. Godaime told the search team everyday of the week-long absence to just keep searching. Sakura was especially concerned, seeing as Naruto was on her team. She thought that Akatsuki might have kidnapped him. Her birthday was on Saturday, and it would be a bummer if not all her friends were there.

Saturday rolls around and Sakura had just finished getting ready for her party. Right when she leaves her room, the doorbell rings. Curious, she opens it to find a box on the placemat with a rose taped on top of it. She opened the box, which had nothing more but a piece of paper with writing on it. It was a poem with no author. She started reading it aloud…

The Worst Poem

Can't express verbally

So this poem is what I did

I had my heart cry out on this one

Couldn't continue to live

Sakura, you're so beautiful

Slender and genuine

What's it going to take

For you to be mine?

I loved you since the beginning

Since our academy days

No matter how you treated me

My love would never go away

I want you so bad

Writing this poem is the only thing I could think of

Forget that man Sakura

Why can't there be an "us?"

I know I'm not the brightest

I know I'm not the coolest

I know I'm not the maturest

But I know what I want

I'm absolutely sure of it

I know one thing though

I'm not going to waste anymore time…

She heard another ring. She opened it.

"Sakura, will you be mine?"

It was Naruto.

"Oh Naruto!"

Sakura flung herself at him, and they kissed. Tears started flowing from her eyes. Naruto wiped them off.

"Happy Birthday Sakura."
