"Happy New Year!"

"Happy New Year."

"Aww, that's all I get?"

"What? I said it back. What else were you expecting?"

Ryuya walked past his senpai and towards his desk. It was the week after the new year and school was beginning again. None of the students wanted to be there and Ryuya was no exception. The school was quiet as it was a time of mourning for the holiday season's end.

Yet, somehow, Orito's energy remained on high through it all.

"Well, I was expecting a welcome with a hug and something along the lines of 'I missed you so much. I missed getting to see you, hear you, feel yo-'"

"Don't drag me into your indecent fantasies, please!" Ryuya yelled.

"You did ask," Orito smirked. Ryuya glared at him before sitting at his desk and pulling papers out of his schoolbag. "So how was your break?" the president asked.

"It was fine. I had to work most of it, but I did catch up on my sleep and studies. Dare I ask how yours was?" Ryuya answered.

"You make it sound like I've done illegal things over the break," Orito pouted.

"I honestly wouldn't doubt you did something stupid," the vice president said under his breath.

"For your information, I spent the break with my family at home. I barely even left the estate," Orito said.

"Hm."

"Aren't you going to ask what else I did?"

"But you already gave me an answer."

"You are so cold sometimes."

"You know, if you want to tell me more about what you did over the break, you could just keep talking when I ask you what you did the first time," Ryuya explained.

Orito looked over Ryuya's irritated expression and sighed. "I see your point. Well, while I was at home, I decided that this year I would make New Year's resolutions!"

"Oh god, this can't be good," Ryuya groaned.

"Hey! I want to try and do something productive this year!" Orito yelled.

"Then why don't you start with your job." Ryuya pointed over to Orito's desk in the center of the Honor's Society's room.

"Did you make any resolutions?" the president asked, ignoring his second-in-command for the moment.

"No. No one ever lives up to their resolutions anyway. Everyone forgets about them three weeks into the new year, so what's the point?"

"Oh come on, there has to be something you want to do!" Orito pried.

Ryuya looked at his superior for a moment in thought. "Well, I do have a bug problem I want to get rid of," he mumbled to himself.

"An investation?"

"Yeah, something like that."

"Do you want to know what my resolution is?" Orito cooed.

"It's not like you weren't going to tell me anyway," the pessimistic teen mumbled.

Orito leaned in close to his lover and whispered in his ear. "I want to be as close to you as possible."

Ryuya suddenly jerked back out of his chair and held his ear. Orito smiled at the blushing and aggravated expression the vice president wore.

"You know, I might actually go through with my resolution," he said.

"What? You want to get rid of bugs?"

"Yeah. There's this one bug that really bothers me."

"Do you need my help?"

"No thank you."
