Two months before Perseus Jackson was born, Sally Jackson gave birth to a mortal child. She was a girl and while Sally loved her from the moment she was born Sally knew it would be too dangerous for her to grow up with Perseus. So, against her own wishes, she dropped the child off at the doorstep of an orphanage. It was the best orphanage she knew but even if she kept telling herself that it was for her daughter's sake it was no good and she cried all night over this. A day later at the orphanage, a couple by the name of Mr. and came to the orphanage and said they wanted to adopt a baby. Not just a child, but a baby. So the owner of the orphanage gave them the child of Sally Jackson and said: "Take her or leave her. she's the only baby I've got now anyway." The Dares took one look at the child and decided to adopt her."My, isn't she cute. "said " We'll name her right now." Mr. Dare decided. " Alright then." replied . "How about Rachel?
