Chapter 1-August 29, 410
Aurora-1:03 PM
Maximus and the army were about to start the fight. "Maximus, please be careful!" Maximus groaned. "Aurora, you know I don't find danger. Danger finds me." "I know, but still, please be careful!" "Alright, I'll try." "You better." Then, I poked him in the chest. After that, Maximus and his unit rode out. As they were riding off, Maximus turned around and saluted me with a smile. Then, he turned around, and focused on the road in front of him. I thought to the Lord, "Please let Maximus be okay..."

I was in fighting BEAST mode, when a spear went right through my stomach. It left a gruesome hole in my body. I screamed so loud, that I bet that everyone in the Roman Empire could have heard me. Then, I passed out. But right before I did, I saw one of my comrades pull the spear out, and my body start to heal itself.

Then, the Roman soldiers came back. Maximus was in a bed? Then, I came to a conclusion. Maximus must be dead. Maximus must be dead. Maximus...MUST BE DEAD! "NO!" Then I ran to the bed, to my fiance's side. "Maximus?" I shook him. "MAXIMUS?" "Miss, he's not dead. He's just unconscious." "What happened to him?" "Spear hit him in the stomach. Left a big, gaping hole in him. But he's alright." "How can you say that? HOW?" "Miss, get control of yourself. Look under his armor, and his shirt. Go on. Look." I did, and surprisingly, there was nothing. Just his skin. "How..." "His body apparently healed itself. He's a true gladiator." The army official was smiling at him. "I bet that he'll take my spot someday. I won't blame him. It's just that...if he takes my job, I'll be down to a general, not general of the whole army." "But when he maybe takes the emperor's spot, you'll be back to head of the Roman Army." "Yeah, I suppose you're right. Here, I'll go with you and Maximus to a hospital room. Then, we zoomed off in a chariot taxi to the hospital. Once we got there, the nurses took him in. They did a quick scan, and said, "Nothing's wrong with him. He's fine. Just take him home, and let him rest for the night. He should be better in the morning." "Alright, and thank you for everything." "No problem." Then, me and the Roman Army Head left, said goodbye, and parted ways. I took a taxi home with Maximus, and said goodnight to him. Then I laid him down next to me, and said, "Goodnight, Maximus." Then, I went to sleep. I never heard the reply "Goodnight, Aurora."
