Prologue: Temptation

He had to resist the temptation.
He balled his hands into fists, arms rigid at his sides. His shoulders were squared, his posture was tense and his chest seemed to tighten with every breath he took. A vein bulged in his neck, his forehead, his brain, and he could feel his teeth grit and grind in his mouth. Every second that passed was then an eternity, and he could sense his anger rising.
Another bluffing threat. Another jolt of rage. Another time his resolve completely crumbled.
He couldn't resist the temptation.
"Mah… that's too bad, Celty."
...
"Shizuo was arrested."
...
"Well, you know how his temper can be."
...
"Six, this time. But there was a fatality, which makes everything different."

"...I don't know, Celty."

"No, it hasn't, remember? He vowed never to kill."
