The Girl with a Shield
She's strong, fast, pretty and mysterious. No one could tell what exactly was her purpose in mind.
There's a girl named Homura.
She's shy, timid and not really very good in anything in particular.
People were curious about her at first, but soon got bored because she's really nothing interesting.
It's alright. She thought. It's not the first time anyway.
But when this pink-haired girl approached her with a smile and a praise that Homura could never forget, her life started to change.
Protecting people was the last thing she thought she could do, but along with her new friends, she felt that anything was possible.
And when she lost that girl that saved her from her own nightmare, she choose to make a wish that would eventually plunge herself into a new nightmare.
.
She's the girl named Homura
She was slightly confident and less timid than before. But who even remembered?
She didn't care what others thing about her. All she cared was to save Madoka and Mami.
I will make this right. She thought. I will save everyone.
But she failed. Again and again.
She couldn't protect everyone. She couldn't protect anyone.
And it didn't help when she realized the truth behind the soul gems, yet no one believed whatever she had tried to say.
.
That's the girl with a shield.
She's strong, fast, pretty and mysterious. No one could tell what exactly was her purpose in mind.
Homura knew it very clearly herself. That one objective that she was willing to sacrifice everything to fulfill it.
I will make this right. She urged herself. I must save Madoka
But it didn't work. Nothing works.
She tried all her might, selflessly and selfishly at the same time, trying again and again to save Madoka.
And then all of the sudden. She lost Madoka in the most unbelievable way possible; even worse than death.
.
Who's Madoka?
She always say that word now and then.
What does that word represent? A name? An object? A pet?
Madoka. She whispered to herself. Madoka...
But the memories are faint and hazy and Homura wondered if Madoka was really someone, or something that exists.
She decided to focus on fighting demons and wraiths with her two companion and it's been a cycle for quite a while.
And all Homura wished was that she could stop fighting for once and leave to somewhere far away. Honestly... what was she even fighting for?
.
She's the devil
She called herself that.
Destruction isn't what she's looking for. It's desire. Desire for only one thing in the whole universe.
Love. Homura's lips tugged. So fragile.
But her heart was empty. Empty like her eyes as she stared at the dark clouds.
She thought maybe this was the world she wanted. Everyone is free from despair. No Magical girls. No witches. No demons either. Everyone is living their life.
And then she stared at her crown soul gem floating on her fingertips.
"What... about me?"
